So happy to hear that it is going so well!
Glad you are having a good time!
Good morning all! Got back Friday morning and still on California time.
Disneyland/DCA was fabulous. Thanks again to @93111tink and @Nana2011 for all their help.
We did (and loved) about half of what we hoped to do but we were just too exhausted to go on. The drive and the heat killed us. My favorite thing about the trip was being there and knowing this was what started it all. So many families experience so much joy because of this.
Lucas loved Carsland (of course) but said his favorite things were Astro Blasters (surprisingly not midway mania) and Star Tours. We did both of those multiple times.
One thing I hated was feeling like the new girl in town. Carl and I said we were the people we make fun of and it drove us type A people insane.
Loved CA but I am a WDW girl at heart. I took a gazillion pictures and posted on Instagram. Please go see (and if you canāt see, then I will post here). Here is one that I love: http://instagram.com/p/ttT_YeqoD8/
Some random observations:
-
I wanted to smack the iPad out of peopleās hands. BUY A CAMERA PEOPLE or at least a camera phone. So annoying.
-
maybe it was my frame of mind but counter service food seemed much better in CA. Not quite sure why. I was also able to snag a day-of character breakfast at our hotel. Something that would never happen in Florida.
-
donāt hate, but I like FP+ ā I like that next month I wonāt have to run around trying to get fast passes when I get to the park.
-
hopefully this is a worldwide thing but I love the fact that I saw more gay/lesbian couple with just married pins or whatever and not leery to walk around holding hands etc. I have never seen it so (for lack of a better term) out in the open before and I am glad that itās becoming the norm.

we told our boss that if he wanted to open a CA office, we would happily take one for the team and move out west. Every time I go out west I say this is where I belong. I could live in Santa Barbara or, when I win the lottery, Coronado or La Jollla.
I am sure I will think of more as I go through pictures etc. just wanted to get some thoughts out there.
What a beautiful Family!! LOve DS mickey ears!! So glad you guys had an great time! Yeah, I was worried about the heat there for those couple of days! Still baking here. Will be shipping something off for Lucas tomorrow Astro Blasters also a fav of DD. Ipads all over the place now. Those cameras on poles too! Always hear talk of FP+ and yes it does sound so much better! So hoping to make it to The World one day! Next time you come we will have to have a meet so you wonāt feel like the new girl in town just another crazy CA girl! LOL and we do have lots of those kinda peeps here! MAkes us more interesting! And yeah we are pretty out in the open. Always see she mine she mine mickey shirts or 2 guys holding hands. Which is totally coolā¦ You love who you love. Iāmcool with everything as long as children or animals arenāt involved. But enough of thatā¦ Again so glad you guys had a good time. Was worried you guys were one of the families stuck on Mickeyās fun wheel for 2hrs! Same day you were there. UGH! never will go on that ever! Get some rest and will look up those pics!
So glad you guys had a good time. And great pictures. Iāve seen several people make mention of the great CS food before. We have an office in La Jolla though Iāve never been to CA before. One of these years weāll make the trip to see it. The thought of driving in and around LA makes me nervous though lol. Only 54 days to go! Since we come in a day earlier weāll make sure everything is ready for you lol.
Thanks @outer you make sure itās ready for me lol and you should check it out ā although full disclosure, normally calm husband was freaking out driving in LA traffic.
Well you always see those movies where people look like theyāre stuck in traffic for hoursā¦ Living in Orlando taught me a lot about being calmer and not yelling at people because I-4 gets bad, but nothing like some of those highways. Iām too much of a control freak not to drive lol. So glad you guys had a good time. Did you get to see World of Color? It looks amazing!
We did half of it (I know, right) but Lucas literally fell asleep in my husbandās arms so we decided to beat some foot traffic and get out before the crowds.
I cried at what I saw though ā especially when I heard Genieās voice.
Oh @Outer1, You just HAVE to come out!! I never learned how to drive ( total spongebob) and LA traffic makes me nervous too! So many lanes, turn offs and crazy people!
