Great trip report so far, can’t wait to see the rest! Sorry to hear you were unwell, glad to hear it didn’t seem to last too long.
It’s great when you have a couple of weeks because if you skip things or need to take rest days it doesn’t impact too greatly on the holida and you can soon catch up.

We got on Soarin with a 17 minute wait and boy was I disappointed. With so much CGI the ride now lacks authenticity and given the time (and money) that Disney has I can’t believe the distortion. I’d be intrigued to see if it was this bad in other parks.

It’s exactly the same in California. I’d be surprised if Shanghai was any different.

The whole plan was to open the same film in all the Soarin’ sites around the world. Would be surprising if the experience is much different anywhere else given the film is the same…

The only thing would be if they designed the theater at SDL differently knowing the content of the film is what it is.

Agreed - the CGI will be the same regardless. You are right that it is possible the newer Shanghai theater could have been designed to minimize the distortion now present when viewing the new movie from the sides in the original Soarin’ theaters.
