I was looking ahead for our trip in April 2018 and saw that on Tuesday April 17 (which we had planned as an MK day and have BOG reservations) the park closes at 6. Anyone have any idea why? 6 PM in April seems odd to me… Is this likely to change? Or is there an event?

Probably an event, and therefore unlikely to change.
The current CL prediction most likely takes this into account, so I would go with that.
