WDWMagic is reporting that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will close at the end of the year, to allow for the new River Country resort work to start.
The cast were told last night of the closure.
For now Hoop de Doo is staying, but it is likely it will close at some point.

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will likely have it’s final performance on Dec 31 2018, as the resort moves ahead with DVC additions.
At this time Hoop Dee Doo will remain.
There are plans to bring a similar Backyard BBQ experience back at a later date.g
Disney is saying that there are no plans to close Hoop Dee Doo according to The Dis.
Didn’t do Mickey’s Backyard BBQ but did do Hoop De Do Review and it was great. Cheaper and much better than Sprit of Aloha. Another diamond in the ruff is the Liberty tree café in the MK. It is reasonable and it’s like having Thanksgiving because that is what they serve and as much as you can eat.
Sigh. In 25 years of family Disney trips, we never saw Hoop De Doo. We were planning on going on our next trip (May 2019) as we are staying at a Wilderness Lodge. We were also going to dine at Artist’s Point, but that is now going to be character dining (with a significantly different menu probably). Not a good wek for our dining plans.
Hopefully, the Dis report is correct. Hoop Dee Doo is right next to Trail’s End and the Fort Wilderness quick service place. They are not directly adjacent to the River Country property.
