On one of the news sites,WESH2 “According to wildlife officials, FWC Law Enforcement officers have safely captured the adult, female bear and will be relocating the bear out of the park to an area in or around the Ocala National Forest.”

Oh that’s one of the ones I didn’t see yet
As Jeff said, I’m hopeful they would be mindful of the concern you raise which is a valid one.
I don’t think this is a concern. A mama bear wouldn’t go that far from a cub anyway. Florida Wildlife will know how to handle this. Black bears aren’t uncommon in swamp areas. Florida has a decent population of them. They usually just stay away from people and commotion. I’m sure there will be a full report but it appears the bear is being relocated to a more suitable habitat.
According to my quick googlating, bear mating season is just finishing up in Florida, and cubs are born at the beginning of the year. (What sign does that make them @katielouhou ?)
Sounds about right. They do stick with their cubs for a long while but I think this is just a wandering single. Maybe she had enough of her mans antics!
In Japan, I read the local female Brown Bears with cubs on Hokkaido live near the human inhabited areas because the males are mean to them and the babes but don’t like the humans! So maybe you’re right
Math humor…
explanation: cosign, cosine. Sine and cosine are trigonometric functions and when graphed produce wavy lines.
It’s to protect the floor?!?!? I really laughed out loud.
This has The Ransom of Red Chief vibes. A librarian should know how that story ends.
