Hey guys I finished Facebook!
I’m actually worried about this. It’s female so can’t be fozzy and what if she has kids out there and she’s just gonna wake up em some new random place? Are bears territorial. I would imagine so what if the new place has a bear that don’t like her there? lol I’m seriously over here worried about this
All valid concerns, but I’m trusting that since they’re using experts to relocate the bear, they know what to look for and how to mitigate these concerns.
I’m assuming the Florida F&W folks have some experience with this stuff. Maybe I shouldn’t! But I hope they know what they’re doing and get her into a good place.
Here in WA, if a bear is getting too close to civilization, they use these karelian bear dogs to chase them when they are released to give them a bad taste of that area so they don’t head back where the people are. Seems mean, but I guess it’s designed to keep the bear from having to be put down, which is what would happen if it was a danger to people.
Where did you find that detail? That is a little worrisome, but
