Mardi Gras Parade at USF: Will anything else be open/running during the parade?

I’ve read from multiple sources that USF “shuts down” during the Mardi Gras parade, which will be occurring smack-dab in the middle of the evening (at 5:15pm and 6:15pm - in each case, 1 hour 45 minutes before park closing) each night during our upcoming February break visit. Can anyone tell me from past experience whether the entire park really shuts down during the parade, or whether it’s only the attractions along the parade route? What about restaurants? We’ll see the parade on our arrival day, and I’m just trying to figure out if we should avoid USF in the evenings after that, or whether we could find something else to do there at parade time if we don’t care to see the parade again (e.g., ride MIB 10 times in a row, or step into a restaurant for a bite). Thanks!
