Luggage Delivery to WDW Resort from SW Flight

Hadn’t seen that yet!

It doesn’t make sense though:

" Guests arriving on domestic Southwest Airlines flights can check their bags at the Southwest bag drop area or ticket counter at MCO after landing. From there, BagCheck , a third-party provider, will handle transportation of the luggage to the guest’s Disney Resort hotel, with delivery expected within about four hours of arrival."

This sounds like I still need to get them from bag check?? I’m so confused by the way this is written.

Looking forward to others trying it out over the next month before I risk it

Why did I think the airline check in expanded beyond the values?

What a waste of time. I guess, if I’m heading straight to the parks, I might consider it. But certainly not the same service I thought they were doing.

OMGosh this is awesome. It was one of the things I loved about Disney back in the day and how you could check em at the hotel. Game changer when you have littles to not have to lug luggage to/from airport

Oh that does suck, the old system where they just knew by the tag was amazing.

I’m surprised they are willing to guarantee your bags within 4 hours using this service given they barely guarantee 8-12 hours using the resort transfer service.

Also seems silly to limit it to Southwest when it doesn’t really matter which line you originally flew. Would be easier to limit it to certain hotels. (Which it seems to imply it is also already doing.)

Likely limiting to SW as a pilot program to work out the kinks. Feels to me like all of this is gearing up to bring back DME, or some similar program to get you in the bubble as fast as possible and keep you there.

I would caution reading that into this. Luggage service perhaps, but free transport is so highly unlikely.

It appears that was a typo because on this article it doesn’t say the MCO part so I think it is like the old system.

Ok this makes MUCH more sense.

Yup for those that don’t want to click “Guests arriving on domestic flights who checked in bags at the departing airport will be able to have a third-party provider, BagCheck, handle transportation of the luggage to the guest’s Disney Resort hotel.”

Never said free, but all of the recent changes on boarding pass, luggage delivery etc. seems to be leading to some sort of program to me - maybe paid or free for deluxe or who knows what kind of iteration it could be. Can’t imagine they are just doing one off small value adds related to airport trans without a bigger picture and a way to monetize it in mind.

This is from the same site and is time stamped the same time, but different?

Another possibility is that it is a deal that SW is doing with Disney in an effort to garner more guests choosing them versus another airline.

Thanks, I see the comment now. I have never seen an updated post that does not update its post date/time.

I wonder how they know who is flying on Southwest? I also hope they expand the whole thing to delixe, because I am flying in on a different airline but out on Southwest and would love to send my bag off before heading to the parks.
