So this is my plan so far based on TP Crowd Calender and other various Mouse sites.
Is it better to get LLMP’s for week 1 when crowds are lower, or wait and save the expense for Week 2:
Staying at Boardwalk so walking to Epcot/HS, Buses to MK/AK
Sun 6 April - land late afternoon
Mon 7 Apr 25 Epcot 8
Tue 8 Apr 25 Magic Kingdom 6 <early start
Wed 9 Apr 25 Hollywood Studios 8 <early start
Thu 10 Apr 25 Pool/Leisure day/Springs or Animal Kingdom
Fri 11 Apr 25 Hollywood Studios 8
Sat 12 Apr 25 Animal Kingdom 6 or Pool/Leisure/Springs
Sun 13 Apr 25 Magic Kingdom 6
Mon 14 Apr 25 Epcot 9
Tue 15 Apr 25 Probably Epcot & Hollywood 9
Wed 16 Apr 25 Magic Kingdom 7
Thu 17 Apr 25 Animal Kingdom 8
Fri 18 April - Flexible day
Sat 19th - Fly home 7pm so will have morning in a park, most likely Epcot/HS because close to hotel.
Plan will likely change based on what ADR’s I can get at Day 60 (on full dining plan) but the fact that I can book 14 days of LLMP’s 7 days in advance means need a relative degree of certainty.
So thinking is Week 1 LLMP’s will be more booked up by others that have already had access to that week but if use them week 1 then can wait til we’re out there to book Week 2 LLMP’s to pick off rides where no one wanted to queue (wife won’t queue for longer that 45mins ish with a 5 year old)
Whereas Week 2 where the parks are ultra busy because it’s Easter week, makes sense to pay to skip queues and more chance of getting earlier slots with the 14+7 day advantage. But don’t want to lock in days at particular parks for Week 2 when we don’t know how week 1 will go.
Aargh makes my head hurt.
Wow! That’s a lottt of Disney! Super excited for y’all!!
I’ve got a lot of thoughts, but ultimately it all depends on what y’all want out of the trip and how y’all do vacations. I’m going to go through my own thoughts and you can cherry pick what seems helpful!
Even when I’m trying to get my thoughts together, my head hurts too
My first and initial impression:
I see LLMP as a full day in the park investment, maximizing the value I can get out of it. I would have more energy to spend a full day in the park at the beginning of the trip. So I think I would get LLMP at the beginning of the trip.
Then on Week 2, I would cherry pick the rides that I want at low standby times.
All that being said, I also perfectly see using LLMP during Week 2, and possibly utilizing Zombie Stacking to leave the park toward the middle of the day and return at night to a full of activities.
I think my biggest advice at this point would be to try to always leave something for a future day at a park. For example, on your first night to HS, don’t do either night time shows. Then on the 11th, do the Wonderful World of Animation, and then on 15th do Fantasmic! Etc. Don’t pack the days so much when you are trying to visit for two weeks. I see it a lot more like a marathon.
My two cents!
Other notes:
Only true for the first three lightning lanes you’ll pick. The rest of the day should theoretically have less lightning lane availability because of increased crowds. So there’s a balance there.
Very true!
My personal take is LLMP is always worth it if it’s in your budget.
We just got back from our trip
Crowd levels in the 2-4 range for most of the trip. Lightning lanes were saving 30+ minutes for the most part.
Granted my people don’t have a lot of wait tolerance or walking tolerance and we weren’t there for 2 weeks.
If your group is willing to do late nights (especially extended evening hours if available) and wait in some lines you could probably ride everything you want without any LL between your various days.
At that point I’d just look at LLMP as a dollar cost vs time savings calculation. Is the ?$30ish? Worth at least a couple hours of your time? Do you have the budget to cover it? What will you do with the time saved by LLMP? Personally I’ve never said “gosh what should I do with all this extra time I have in Disney World” there’s always something I would be happy to spend more time on.
