Seriously @ninjasherrie ? How do you not know me yet? I do not watch a lot of shows or movies. And sci-fi? Nah.
Can we still be friends?
… I guess…
I’m really just teasing you. I don’t watch much in the way of tv or movies either, and what I do watch is mostly sci fi and dystopian future stuff. Much like the books I read.
Wouldn’t dystopian future be non fiction by now???
Allllllllllllllllways good to see you around these parts @quicha!
Don’t be such a stranger, eh?
Facts. One if the shows I do watch, Handmaid’s Tale, I read as a teenager in the 1980’s, and it terrified me bc I could see how readily it could happen. We almost got there these past few years.
Promise to drop my job more often to hang around here amiga!
Excellent. It’s nice when an amiga gets her priorities in line
I know! I was re-watching The Walking Dead and it suddenly felt a lot more pausible this time round. No toilet paper shortage though.
I never read the book, but started watching the series on Hulu last year. At the beginning of lockdown. While pregnant. Certainly had my mind racing!
At least we found one movie we both love!!
Captain @OBNurseNH for sure as she now knows all about the Star Wars universe
Saber trainer @Randall1028 he’s made a few so he must have experience wielding them as well
Cruise director @Bubblez I have a good feeling she would be a lot of fun to hang out with
I’ll gladly volunteer for Rey. I already have some of the costumes.
Is this the part where I reveal I actually have taught saber fencing before?
I did think that @Bubblez fit Cruise Director description quite nicely.
Nice! See, you’d be perfect for the job! I want to take a class myself but alas I don’t know of any near my area.
I think they forgot to mention that the role requires a voice of reason in a galaxy full of noise.
Also true. I felt it was implied.
Aw, shucks. I promise it will never be boring.
Funny enough, last night DH was explaining universe things to me.
DH: Now, don’t panic, but in a trillion plus years…our sun’s going to explode.
Me: whimpers Uh huh.
DH: It’s be ok, we’ll all be inhabiting somewhere else long before then. But just imagine two galaxies just running into each other, absorbing, becoming one new unit.
Me: Uh huh.
DH: You’re already packing in your head aren’t you.
Me: Uh huh.
DH: Look, we’ll even have figured out how to navigate worm holes by then.
Me: In twelve parsecs?
DH: …yes. Sure.
Captain! I also think the purple light is engaging! Let’s go!
I’ve never been thought of for anything fun like this! It made my heart smile.
