I just called Disney Travel Company to modify my reservation from March to January. I saw an offer for a Magical New Year offer that would make a room at Grand Californian cheaper than the rack rate I had for Disneyland Hotel with a standard view.
The wonderful cast member that I spoke with told me about a Length of Stay offer that is only available if you call. I am now paying about $500 less for a woodland view at Grand Californian than I was paying for the standard view at Disneyland Hotel.
So if you are planning a trip, call instead of booking online. This offer is available for stays until the beginning of April, I think. It is 25% off rooms at Gc and DL hotels including weekends.

Yes BUT they then don’t have to give the offer very broadly as most people won’t know it’s an option.
