We’ve been in March quite a few times. The weekends seem MUCH busier. But I would think they are similar to October.
You’ve helped so much!
If I wait til November, I could get in on the traveling homeschoolers tickets, BUT they are only 6 day park hoppers… so I don’t know if it would be enough time. It would allow us to add on fun extras though at a reduced cost. I guess if I can’t get Feb to work, I will console myself with that?
For now - I’m looking at properties that might be available in Feb.
I wonder if those items are why I can’t find All Star rooms!
You could look at 3 day convention tix. They still save a bunch on money! You could even do these as 1 park per day and work them into the schedule.
With the homeschool Tix is it 6 days over a span of days? Or (just hear me out) you could mix in some Universal time ![]()
I bet it is- at least that long of a stretch. If you broke it up you might find availability. But then you may have to switch rooms mid way. Not the end of the world. But if y’all have a car being off property would likely be more comfortable. With more than 3 ppl we would have to do a Music suite or stay off property. Like you said, a few days are fine but to be comfortable for a week and a half… those rooms are right, lol.
I just don’t sleep great. And DH is a real early bird.
We are probably (against my better judgement) going to mix it up next time but I’ve gone in late October for a few times now and it’s an awesome mix of low crowds and good weather!
But I definitely get that it’s far away!
I don’t either. We did 3 nights with DS (25) at Pop. DH snores a little (a lot). I slept so light so that I made sure DH didn’t bother DS, lol. Good thing DS sleeps like the dead for 5-6 hours of the night. My own space is more of a necessity as we get older. It’s just more comfortable. I would choose off site with more room over onsite at All Stars for y’all at the same price. I’ve been meaning to check out some of the local hotels that have 1 br suites. IDK of if that would be cost effective over private rentals. But I’ve been told off site isn’t as bad as you would think.
That is one of the few rides we ended up not doing. But none of us cared about it that much. Two years ago when we went, we RD’d it one day, and it was a pretty long wait since we were coming from the main entrance.
We have done off site villa rentals 100% of our family trips. It’s only been the last three small group, few night stays that we did All Stars. I do like the All Star resorts but thing a house is better for this kind of thing. ![]()
@EMgoblue mine haven’t done it yet so I’ll have to suck it up. It does have a single rider line now …
It would be good weather. Before we switched to annual travel in May we did late Oct-early Nov.
I was gonna mention that, but wasn’t sure how your girls would feel about it. Mathew (DS10) was still skeptical about doing single rider last summer, but did consider it. We never ended up using it for anything.
Mine do a lot of SR at Dollywood so I think they’d be fine.
Ok, y’all have made me feel better about no LLMP and I know deep down we belong offsite.
I’m going to poke around for dates…
Thank you for helping me “talk” this stuff out.
Have you thought about renting DVC points? Some of the resorts like OKW and SSR aren’t insanely expensive. And you would have extra space if you got a one bedroom.
Yes
While we don’t do a lot of rides any more the Kid does. Last week of June 2022 with a friend with no LLs and several days after Thanksgiving 2024 solo with one LL.
Always rope drop. And I think checking wait times.
Zig when others are zagging.
I think too bailing if wait is longer than 30 minutes. This last 3 day trip the only thing missed was fireworks due to tiredness (long travel day the day before)
Agree. I’ve done All-Star Sports twice. It’s great for a few nights where you plan to go to the parks from RD to close, but too tight quarters for 10 nights!
My absolute favorite time to go to WDW is last of January and beginning of February. If I didn’t have to factor in outside influences.
I also like right after Labor Day except for the heat which in June 2022 was nearly unbearable. Mid May 2024 was bordering on too warm. And I’ve been too hot 15 April. I realize those days are before Labor Day but the weather was excessively warm. Early September 2019 was hot
also.
For 2025 I might arrive 26 January and leave 7 or 8 February.
For this trip I agree that a house would be best. And likely you can get a house now for early 2025. Disney rooms, maybe not.
I’ve been buying park hopper plus tickets lately. We’ve been doing a resort (house) day and then a park day, repeat. For years we’ve done most parks in two mornings, catching more popular rides early followed by less popular rides in say Adventureland and Frontierland one day. Another morning we’ll do popular rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland first, followed by less popular rides.
We usually do some highlights at each park on an evening as well. Rest in between. Altho evenings are likely to be adults take it slower while the kids ride more rides.
We’ve been using our mini golf vouchers and then there’s the water parks with the PH+ tickets.
In May we did way more lounges than in December. Even embarrassed ourselves trying to shoot pool at one resort lounge. The mind knew what to do but the muscles forgot. ![]()
We also like resort lunches even if it’s just the quick service and eating outside.
Last 2 or 3 trips I’ve thought of some arcade time as well (we adults years ago used to do games in bars) but we usually were lounging too much. ![]()
Full disclosure: there are some rides/attractions we just don’t care about. Especially due to motion difficulty. Which makes it easier to do the stuff you want to do from rope drop to maybe 11 am in the park sections we’re doing that day.
Arrive 26 January
Depart 7 or 8 February

I’ve begun not paying attention to the crowd calendar. Especially if we’re rope dropping. Ride lines have been interestingly low very early in the day since our December 2020 trip which had nearly nobody in the parks.
Since then the walkways might be crowded but most rides/attractions seem to be different than before 2020. Last week at HS, 7:30 tap in, my sister did Tower of Terror twice before official park opening. Then we did TSM and ST (RnRC was not operating) and took holiday decorations photos and had ice cream before leaving at 10 to greet our cousin when Mears dropped her at our resort. I’m a very slow walker. Normal folks could have covered more ground. ![]()
If you haven’t read it already, DTB has a good overview of “good” & “bad” weeks to visit WDW: Best & Worst Weeks to Visit Disney World in 2024, 2025 & 2026 - Disney Tourist Blog
I agree with those who have said that a good touring plan is more important than CLs, but especially if you’re not keen on buying LLMP, I guess every little advantage helps!
Speaking to this we rode single rider Remy on Sunday. The posted wait was close to an hour. It took us maybe 5 minutes to get on. No need to wait in that long line (or get caught in the crowd trying to rope drop it from the front gates) if you can do single rider. There were 6 of us and we ended up in 3 ride vehicles, so everyone still had a buddy to ride with.
There’s also a discussion of Attraction Tickets’ 14 day ticket in the Convention Tickets tip thread in La Cava - if you’re going to be there 12 days, it might be of interest? Let me know if you want me to tag you in the thread. ![]()
