I looked at the archives but wondered if anyone had recent experience with a child over 9 ordering off kids menu at table service restaurant paying out of pocket?
My DD 14 was able to order kids burger at Whispering Canyon Cafe but did get some flack. When she said “kids burger” server said “adult burger?”. This went on for three times but he did let her order it.
If you are paying OOP they generally don’t care what you order.
In the case above I’d have said my DS (9) would like two kids’ burger meals, and my DD (13) was just going to have water 
I think I have heard it can be an issue at La Hacienda and maybe other restaurants owned by that group?
