Am on the fence about the Jollywood Party at the Studios during my upcoming trip. Anyone else going? Would you recommend this party? I’ve done MVMCP several times, so no need to spend $170 to do that one. Are all the attractions open or just a couple?
All the rides are open during the party hours. Most shows are not, whether because they are daytime-only things, or because their location is being used for a party-specific show. Fantasmic! still happens, but at an earlier time to keep it within the regular hours.
There are several people going to Jollywood Nights. Much of the discussion happens in threads in the La Cava section. There are specific threads for November and for December, as well as a Liner meetup one.
Many people are very excited about as I think this is the first after hours holiday event at HS.
Because I’m a nerd I want to clarify that Muppets 3-D and Lighting McQueen are considered “shows” in this case…
Not trying to be “That Guy”… I was just hoping I could see Muppets 3-D on this trip and it’s not happening… (I will get to see the Live though…so that’s REALLY cool!! An actual concert with the real Muppets being there performing… The 1979 - 1981 child version of me is freaking out to see them!)
I think the price is too high for the hours you get… If I got in at 3pm like MVMCP I’d be THRILLED. However, I can’t get into DHS until 7pm with this ticket…
I’m going to meet other Liners there and do rides. I am using my Disney Visa points to pay for the ticket, food & etc… Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t pay / go to the event…
I’m excited to go to the first one here in a couple of days. Don’t know if I can truly recommend something I haven’t done quite yet though.
There are only 3 dates sold out so far. My bet is the rest will go quick once reviews start rolling in Saturday night / Sunday morning after that first one (at least if reviews are positive)
Wrong show… “That Guy” is featured in Monsters Inc Laugh Floor in MK
I’m glad you got the joke!!
I was debating in my head before posting wondering if it was intentional or not
According to WDWNT, Muppets 3d will be open. I couldn’t find a list on Disney’s website: Full List of Disney's Hollywood Studios Attractions Open During Jollywood Nights, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue Details Announced - WDW News Today
I keep watching the ticket site. I want to go, FOMO on a first is thought rolling around in my head. “What if they never do it again!” Or “What if it’s not worth the $$?” It’s a good point that the hours are shorter, but the price is some days the same as MVMCP. I just haven’t jumped at the offer yet.
Yeah…I can’t find an “offical” list either. I’d love for it to be open! Over at MK, for parties, they close PhilharMagic, Country Bears, Tiki, Carousel of Progress.
I wasn’t surprised when the article I saw earlier said it wasn’t happening. However, with so few rides at DHS they need to keep them all open!
I’m not sure what to think about Muppet 3d. When I look at other attractions (rides) that are listed as being open for JN, Disney’s page for the attraction says this for AS2:
But for MuppetVision 3D it only says this:
I think this is one of those things that we’ll have actually wait to see…
Just 2 more nights!
Curioser and curioser. I just looked at the MDE app on my phone, and when I did a search for “Jollywood,” one of the results was “Disney Jollywood Nights Event Guide.” When I scrolled down to “Favorite Attractions” and clicked on the arrow to the right, the list includes MuppetVision 3D (and not Indiana Jones nor Lightning McQueen). Unfortunately, if you click on “Learn More” it only brings up current info for today.
You’re right.
We watched Resort TV do part of the event before we went to bed. It was the first night. What we saw wasn’t terribly impressive. The show with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Minnie and Mickey seemed cheesy and somewhat amateurish. Maybe it is better in person?
I am anxious to see how everything else goes and get actual opinions.
I’ll be typing up a full review soon in my trip report
Please post in this thread when you do!
I watched some of both shows on one of those live broadcasts too and I thought the same. The singalong was more engaging imho and also only thirty minutes for both shows.
The reviews I have seen thus far have been absolutely terrible. Hoping they improve the experience before I go in December.
I was thinking about this as I was watching. MK at the end of the day has a special parade and a special great set of fireworks with projections. Plus ride layovers most especially one of a beloved attraction. In addition they have some very unique characters and I watched the jack and sally one and it’s amazing! Jacks face is one of the talking masks. Plus free snacks, candy or cookies depending on the season. Jollywood Nights has no ride layovers and no parade and from my experience the only late night show there that’s extravagant like MK fireworks is Fantasmic and the old Star Wars fireworks. The light up shows on Chinese theater are meh so they really needed to bring it with both of the stage shows to make this unique enuf to compare to MKs. And no free snacks.
And horrendous lines for the paid specialty snacks and cocktails
