Is there such a thing as a Magic Band "card"?

So I went to MDE online today to verify that some old magic bands I still have are active. These are the kind you wrap around your wrist. The two I still have, and have used on ALL previous WDW trips, showed up as active, along with a graphic-type photo of those wrist bands, and their correct band number (or serial number … whatever) imprinted on the back of the magic bands I have.

However I also saw 6 other “active” magic bands that looked like a credit card (NOT one that wraps around your wist) each with a unique serial number, that I didn’t know I had or even remember getting or using. My wife’s magic band listing showed 5 card-type bands in addition to her wrist style bands. I took a screenshot of that Disney page with the band numbers, and plan on calling Disney’s customer service after the holidays to see what they can tell me, if anything. The FAQ link on the MDE web site was useless. I’m confused. Does anyone by chance know what I’m asking about?

I’d would have simply asked Santa :santa: instead of bothering you all, but he left earlier this morning before I got up. Merry Christmas !!!

In my account these are old, used tickets that I linked about the same time MBs were first being used.

I remember that these old cards could be used to “hack” some systems. I do not believe that is still true. I have deactivated them all in my account.

I also had to deactivate any cards associated with profiles I controlled before I could delete them.

Well that’s interesting. Old, used tickets … that are still “active” in MDE. Will be curious what, if anything, Disney tells me I can do with them now.

I think the term “active” is a little confusing when you talk about these old ticket cards. The ones in my account were the ones you used to scan into the FP machines to book additional FPs (not the paper FPs). I believe these are the same cards that would still allow FPs even though the tickets were used.

Sounds like they could be old Key to the World cards.

It is funny, some of the ones I had to deactivate were old, used Undercover Tourist Tickets.

You might be right. Just got off the phone with Disney, and the lady I spoke with was very helpful. She could see all the cards in her system that I saw on my account when signed into MDE. Apparently these are cards from past visits that we received or were credited with at the time. She could actually tell me the year they were issued & what they were used for. She mentioned Keys to the World once, among other things like room key access, and stuff I simply didn’t recognize. I honestly do not remember ever physically having one of those cards, but odds are that I really did and have simply forgotten now. She also told me not to be overly concerned as those “cards” would eventually drop off my account, but the physical magic bands in my possession are still good and will do anything and/or everything I used one of those old cards for if we ever repeat one of those events again. Thanks everyone.
