Is Mousekeeping back to daily, everywhere?

Do all Disney hotels get daily housekeeping currently? Even Values?

Last year it was still every other day.

According to Disney, values and moderates are still every other day:

This blows my mind.

Do you have the concept of shrinkflation in the US? This would be an example.

COVID was so good for corporations.

I know, itā€™s annoying. I like having housekeeping every day. And I donā€™t like keeping track of whether this is a housekeeping day or a non-housekeeping day. (ā€œDo I need to make the bed myself today?ā€)

It was just every other day at Coronado last week

Thanks for the confirmation. I was wondering if the website was actually up-to-date.

Where else in the world would you pay that much for a room and not get daily maid service?

It was also every other day at All Star Sports when I stayed there two weeks ago. Same for the Courtyard Marriott in DLR in July. Even at the Values, I find it unfortunate - and agree that at Moderate or Deluxe prices itā€™s pretty shocking. I travel a lot for work and stay at hotels (mainly in Africa, Europe and the Middle East) at least 1-2 per month - I havenā€™t come across any other country that didnā€™t return to daily housekeeping after COVID!

Weā€™ve stayed at high-end hotels in a few places this year and the default is every-other day unless we direct them otherwise. Like you said, the corporations have taken advantage of Covid as well as earlier supply chain issues and labor shortages.

I usually stay at Hampton Inn and many of them are no housekeeping at all for length of stay. Theyā€™ll bring you towels if you call them.

OTOH, DCL is one of the very few cruise lines that still does twice a day housekeeping and turn down service.

All the UOR hotels (so far as I am aware) offer daily housekeeping. There is no excuse not to do so other than profiteering.

I have been at a conference all week. Off-season on Cape Cod and I stayed at a Holiday Inn. There was daily housekeeping with the option to opt out.

I donā€™t particularly mind the limited housekeeping. But DD and I recently stayed in a Hilton and not only was there no housekeeping but they wouldnā€™t give us more than two ā€˜bigā€™ towels. We both have long hair and need two each since our hair needs one of its own. It was pretty grim until I snagged a large stack from a housekeeping cart. Then they took our stack of clean towels, so the next stack I took I had to hide. These are not things you should have to think about when staying in a hotel.

I also donā€™t mind limited housekeeping. I usually am only in my room long enough to shower and sleep, I donā€™t really need someone to come and vacuum and make my bed for me every day. As long as I can get fresh towels when I need them Iā€™m good.

Thatā€™s ridiculous you had to hide towels.

I donā€™t mind reusing towels, but thereā€™s rarely anywhere in the bathroom to hang them to dry. Other than towels, I like to have the trash emptied daily, but I donā€™t mind no vacuuming or bed making.

Iā€™m in a couple of Pop Century groups, and there are constant complaints that housekeeping is more like every 3-4 days, not every other day. Iā€™m here now, checked in on Friday, so I guess Iā€™ll know shortly.

Oh, do let us know! Thatā€™s where Iā€™ll be in a few weeks.

Perhaps more annoying: We stayed at a Fairfield Marriott in upstate NY for Parentā€™s Weekend at DDā€™s University. Because it was a popular weekend with guaranteed 100% capacity all of the local hotels jacked prices from the typical mid to high $100s as high as $650/n, 2 night minimum. (I used points, no way Iā€™m paying that craziness.)

What was the housekeeping policy for that technically $1500 stay after taxes? Every THIRD day. Which = 0 housekeeping for the entire weekend since everyone checked in and out the same days for this event.

I am a make the bed person. Therefore, the one thing I loathe doing at a hotel is make the bed. I am also a consumer who will complain nicely. When we were at AKL last November, housekeeping ended up having to show up at 6PM while all of us were in the room. Four women and a baby - our room needed cleaned. And at the time, I was under the impression the deluxe resorts were being cleaned daily. On a positive note, I always provide housekeeping with a generous tip.
