I should note, it IS so frustrating not to be able to get them ahead of time. I take short trips so I know the struggle is real! Good luck!

I was able to get FoP at the drops for 13 people 
6 people trying, got overlapping times (we did have to use the 15 minutes tolerance to go together)

Agree with getting in line right at park close. The wait is almost always shorter than posted. (And the queue - which you miss with FP+ - is worth it.)
