Well I went ahead and did it since it’s just $200 on hold and I can cancel up to Oct 31…I got the 2 day park to park ticket for the old parks and added express. It was cheaper to buy two days of 2 park unlimited express and stay in the 2 bedroom suite at Dockside than a regular 2-queen room in a premier which this is the first time that’s been true! Inflation I suppose…and I figured my kids would appreciate now they’ll be 18 and 21 and they complained 1.5 years ago about sharing a room with us already. It comes with the 1 day Epic Universe ticket and I can add a day if they ever come out with single tickets but I may not do that if we can get VIP tour or Express in Epic. I’ll add something to give us time to do it all. I’ll also prolly have us try to get in somewhat early on arrival day and do the other Escape Room (BTTF) as we really enjoyed the Jurassic World one last time. Maybe we can mini-golf again too as it’s been a bit since we’ve done that.
Their last day of college is 12/14 so I booked 12/15-12/19 for now but I might add a day depending on flights. Usually from Austin I can get an early flight on Southwest, Jetblue, Frontier or Spirit and a late flight on checkout day so we get more time.
For now I’m thinking:
12/15 - Citywalk and the BTTF Escape Room
12/16 - Epic
12/17 - IOA & USF
12/18 - IOA & USF
12/19 - maybe Epic again if I can get a single day ticket and a late flight out or add a night for stuff we didn’t do on the VIP tour or with Express (though I doubt there’ll be express but I did read somewhere, maybe it was here, that VIP guides are training for Epic so fingers crossed that’s an option minimally for the rides and we can hit shows and do interactive things on a 2nd day)
Bonus, it’s Christmas time and there’ll be Potter and Seuss Christmas!
I am hoping we can spend a day in Epic during our fall WDW trip, but that would only happen if single day tix with Express are offered by then.
These are going to be like gold … and likely priced accordingly. I suspect that the first couple years after Epic opens Universal could sell a lot of these at $500/person/day even with a limit of 1 ride per attraction.
Yeah that’s one of the reasons I went with dockside so I could have more money for express or VIP (group) if they offer it. Or at least one day tickets already!
Just an FYI - I received a survey from Universal around the VIP tours and how much I was willing to spend. They gave a bunch of different scenarios at different price points that included Epic Universe. We have done the VIP tours several times at UO and IOA and these prices were considerably more expensive. They also included significant increases for UO and IOA.
I’ve had that survey too! I think after doing the one in Ioa and USF a couple of years ago……
I know they’ll be more than they are now but I cannot do 2 hour lines all day long with my adhd so I’ll pay it most likely and stay in the cheaper room. The only thing I remember not liking too much about surf side was I could hear a baby cry thru the walls at night (I’ll bring earplugs) and the towels and pillows aren’t great but it’s just a few nights and I’m contemplating bringing a pillow.
I’ll also say they are really nice, the US VIP group tours, but I do prefer express so you can just be with your own family and do what you want when you wanna. If it weren’t for Hagrids not having express……it’s time already! Lol. Well do early entry and pop in 5 min before close for it tho and I’ll survive the 45 min lines typically at those times.
