I found trying to use BG1 was “impossible” when I tried to use it on my Android phone in Chrome. But when I installed the Firefox browser on my phone (just for BG1) and set it up that way, it was much easier and straightforward. If you are using Android, I would recommend giving the Firefox instructions a go. (Again, I ONLY use Firefox for BG1.)

Thanks for the tip! I have a (very old) android phone I’ll be using, so I will download firefox for this reason. I will have my work laptop with me as well though, so perhaps I should use that instead…
Once I start reading this stuff, I can’t stop myself 
I will be at Epcot on 11/7, which I understand is part of “jersey week” so I am bracing myself for crowds. I didn’t pick the date; it’s when the conference I’m attending happened to be. And I’m going in recognizing that a busy afternoon at Disney drastically beats a boring afternoon at the conference hotel pool.

Probably BG1 is overkill if you are going in the afternoon. Even when I TRIED to get a later boarding group using BG1, I still need up in, well, BG1!
As long as you are ready to go, doing it the standard way will still likely get you a decent BG.
But BG1 definitely makes it easier…and you can use it for booking LLs as well, I believe. (I haven’t tried that myself.) So still worth getting it set up.

I am currently planning out an Epcot evening (for December) so in case it’s helpful:
I have heard the 1 pm VQ drop for Guardians tends to be easier? Thrill Data knows best - I can help dig it up later if no one else finds it first. 
For LLMP, you have to tap into something to free up the tiering, so that you can try to book multiple tier 1s. I am not sure of the best Epcot option (will you be entering via main entrance or International Gateway), but the advanced LL thread should have that info (I will check too).
Sunset is at 5:36pm. I plan to stake out a couple of the Spaceship Earth light shows (I read they start around 10 min after sunset, maybe, but I’m hoping to find more specific info) and see Journey of Water after dark. That might also be something you want to do, if you’re in that area?
I also plan to explore the countries and play DuckTales.

I downloaded the BG1 thing and played around with it today, so I am very hopeful to have VQ success at 7 am. I plan to be off and running around the park at 1pm, so I’d rather not have to manage things then (but will as a plan B if I must).
I’m heading in via the IG and plan to make Figment my first LLMP, tapping in as quickly as I can, so I can try to score another tier 1 LL (thinking Soarin’).
Very cool about the Spaceship Earth light shows. I did not know about this! And Journey of Water after dark sounds amazing too…I’ll need to go back to my touring plan and make some changes.

This prompted me to write a whole post on the LL advanced theory topic, based on how hard it is to figure out the best place to single tap in Epcot when coming from the IG. 
In your case, you’re not hopping or at rope drop or anything, so it should work fine even if Figment has 2 taps.
ETA: wait, why wouldn’t you make Remy your first LLMP tap, if you can get the prebooked time around 1pm?
(Also, you probably already know this, but they may let you in more like 12:47.)
Oooh, double taps… Did not think about that as part of the strategy!
I wanted/want Remy as my first LL, but since I can only start getting them three days out, I thought a LL for Remy around midday was super unlikely. So I thought figment was my next best bet from the IG, to break the tiers and have a hope for Soarin’. If you have other suggestions though, I’m all ears!
Good point - I think I would make a prioritized list with Remy first and then backups.
I don’t really think the double tap at Figment will delay you that much if you want to ride (you might be updating LLs while riding) - it’s more of an issue if you want to tap and leave. Which did you want to do?
I’m hoping someone will know if the Pixar shorts are 1 tap or 2. It seems weird that they would be 2…
You need to break the tiers before the 1:47 Remy drop (hopefully), so that you can pick that up.

Oh, I definitely want to ride figment!
My current plan for advance LLs is figment around 12:30, mission space Green around 3:30 and Remy later on in the evening. I’m hoping after figment to try to grab Soarin’, and then if I can grab SE after Soarin’, even better. I’ll do LWTL standby somewhere in there.
It seems to me a LL for FEA is impossible given I’d prioritize Remy over it. I’ll decide if I want to deal with the line or just skip it altogether. I don’t want to leave Remy to the chance of the drop.
Oh, and I’m hoping the luck of the BG1 gets me a GotG boarding group too.
