We have a wedding in San Diego January 4th and would like to rent a car and drive to LA for a couple of days. Naturally, we MUST do DLR. I am only allowed one day (so says the family) there. So, do we go to DLR before the wedding or after? Original plan was flying from DC to SD Thursday, drive towards LA Sunday, stay at one of the Disney resorts Sunday, DL Monday then LA Tuesday/Weds.
We will only do Disneyland, not CA adventure. But, it looks like the EMH is only Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday @ DL.
What are the benefits of doing DLR before or after SD? Are you just asking about the crowds or entertainment on specific dates, or are there other considerations you have in mind?
If you can afford to stay at a Disney resort, I highly recommend it. The Grand Californian is magnificent and extremely convenient - you walk out the door to DCA and just a quick walk to DL. The Disneyland and Paradise Pier hotels are great but not much closer to the parks than the Harbor Blvd hotels.
