I was really expecting another HHN announcement today. I’m bummed! lol

My excited for announcements has waned after the leak. Before that everything was “rumored”. Now, we know. While there are details & story we don’t know I can infer pretty much everything from the titles… 
I’m still loving the Discover Universal podcast though. Getting those back stories is like a “Behind the Screams” Tour!!

The number of people losing their minds over not being able to get a multi-night pass with Express is mind blowing to me… like, they did all sell out last year, and it was pretty clear they were oversold. I don’t know why people didn’t expect substantial limits this year. That said, I do think that with a reduced limit they should have given advance notice of when they were going on sale, so everyone in a group could buy at the same time.

As you know, I truly forgot that it was sold out last year. During my HHN last year, in mid-Sept. I never waited more than 15 minutes, often less, in the Express queue. So I never thought or felt like it was oversold.
However, I did think the single night / multi-night tickets were oversold. The standby queues have been crazy for the last two years!!
IMHO - There shouldn’t be a 100 - 120+ minute wait for any of these houses for standby guests.
FYI - Not arguing or debating!! 
If anything I’m wondering how reduced the capacity for Express actually is or did they just sell many as last year, but faster???
In 2022 all the vloggers would say “Don’t buy Express - you don’t need it for HHN! You can do all 10 houses in one night!”
Now, they all say, “Express is a MUST!” (Which I agree!)
Agreed! So many people start asking the social media team as soon as the first House announcements come out.
Using historical data, they have be released the second or third week of July the last two years. I was ready when they were available. Although, I hadn’t planned on buying mine for a few more weeks in case my leg has issues. I’m locked in now!!
IMHO - They need to limit the number of multi-night passes sold WITHOUT Express… just sayin’!

I think the effect of those must not be as big as all of us thought, since they didn’t even raise the prices much (if at all). The giant price increase in Express (even for single night), along with the likely reduced capacity suggests that they wanted to dissuade people from getting those. There are some who keep insisting that it’s not to limit the Express capacity, and just trying to force people to buy single night Express to make more money, but they’re failing to realize that literally nobody is going to buy it for every night of a multi-night pass, and many who actually use the pass frequently probably won’t even buy it for every night they go so I don’t think it’s (exclusively) a money thing.
I think the crazy fast sell out was multi-factor… like, after they sold out last year and people who usually wait were shut out I think there was a lot more interest in buying passes right away, and that plus a reduced capacity would add up to much bigger first-day sales than the data would have predicted. The fact that RIP is getting close to sold out already is another sign that demand for the luxury products is just much higher.

Yeah… it was definitely a cascading effect! It was like, “OH!! Those are gone!! I’d better get mine now.” It’s what happened to me for sure.
I checked and it was only like $10 more per pass this year, so not anything too noticeable
I’m still not sure if they really reduced capacity or if they just sold out faster…We’ll have to wait & see…
You are right about the much larger price increase to add Express to the Multi-night pass. It went up about $75 - $80 per pass.
I got “Rush of Fear with UXP” this year for the same price as the “Frequent Fear with UXP” last year. I got fewer dates for the same price. Luckily, the dates of Rush are perfect for my trip. So, I didn’t “feel” like I had an increase! 
This is what I think as well! HHN is getting more & more popular (as it should be!). That with, IMHO, the standby waits having been shown to be crazy long make it that you MUST buy UXP unless you only want to do a few houses each night
I think this is mostly just people being spoiled, though. Our trip in 2018 had waits in the 2+ hours for Stranger Things and and hour+ for like half of the other houses, so that’s really not new. Even with the crazy crowds last year though, I managed to do 5 houses by dark. If I’d stayed later I could definitely have done all of the houses, because there were still 6 hours left.

Since the leak, I haven’t been as pumped for announcements. However, I did expect a formal announcement today of a scare zone or something. I think the formal announcement of the last house will come at the end of this week.

Blumhouse Scare Zone location confirmed! It’s in San Francisco outside F&F. This is the area that the most recent Blumhouse film HHN houses have been located. It’ll be cool if the whole area is “Blumhouse”
I’m also hoping they put The Goblin’s Fest house near the Torture Faire Scare Zone… I love the notion that the entire area is themed to the house nearby!
