Help with LL picks

I buy LL tomorrow morning. First timers here, this is my game plan. I’d love to hear your advice. I’m wondering mostly on what times of day are too late where I want to switch to my back-up plan and what burner rides might I want to be prepared with. We have EE if wanted on a skyline resort.

We go to the parks Feb 17-Epcot, Feb 18-MK, Feb 19-HS. I plant o order in the order of HS, MK, then Epcot unless you suggest otherwise.

HS
T1: Slinky Dog
Backup Runaway RR
Smugglers is top of the list, but I hear that it’s easy to get?

T2: Toy Story and Indiana Jones
Backup T2? Star tours?
Burners?

MK
T1: Peter Pan
Backup Jungle Cruise.

T2: Pooh and Pirates
Backup Buzz and Small World
Burners?

Epcot
Tier 1: Frozen (EE Remy from Intl entrance)
Soaring is #1 for my son but heard Frozen might be harder to get, do I switch this? How hard is soaring to get in comparison to Frozen?

T2: Spaceship Earth, Mission Space (Orange) - is orange a wasted LL pick?
Backup T2?
Burner: maybe Pixar if needed?

THANK YOU!

I don’t think you need LL for Indiana Jones. That’s a show in a very large outdoor theater.

I also don’t think you need LL for Mission Space. I did that in Dec without LL and it had a very short wait. It’s not that popular.

It is. Runaway is MUCH harder. You should be able to find a Slinky or Runaway during prebooking.

Excellent pick

Not really needed. I didn’t realize they did LL for this show. I would pick Alien Saucers or Tower of Terror if those are on your list of things to do. Star Tours is also easy to get day of.

Great picks. I wouldn’t prebook small world. Easy to get day of.

Frozen is most definately harder to get day of. Almost impossible. You should be able to catch a Soarin day of fairly easy. I would plan to use the Frozen LL right after Remy that way you can unlock tiers quickly. Unless you want Frozen later in the day. Then I suggest heading straight to Spaceship Earth so you can unlock tiers.

Good Choices. On the LL thread, MS is suggested at the top pick for Tier 2. I don’t follow those return times as I can’t ride due to moderate claustrophobia. But the tier 2’s at Epcot seem fairly easy to get day of.

Frozen is much, much harder to get than Soarin’. On my last trip, Frozen was sold out before park opening while Soarin’ had returns times within about an hour for much of the day.

Why not Tower of Terror instead of Indy? You likely won’t need a LL for Indy.

Since you get 3 LLs and your first tap in to any ride opens up Tiers, for the really tough LLs like SDD, TSM, Peter Pan and Frozen I would book whatever you can get even if it is later in the day. For third LL in each park, it’s tough to decide between booking a late morning (or later time) vs getting a throwaway close to park opening. I usually try to make sure I have 1 LL each day to use relatively close to the earlier of (a) park opening and (b) my planned park arrival time (in oder to open up tier and park options).

Thanks, we aren’t ready for tower yet, what would you recommend instead?

Hmm, without considering ToT there’s not much else that’s worth it, in my opinion. Would you do RnR? If so, I’d grab FSA for as early as you can, burn it, and book RnR with the tiers unlocked. Or just any other Tier 1.

I agree with your order. This will be a very crowded week, so I think you’re right to think about burners on T2, in order to unlock a 4th pick early enough each day. I don’t think you need back-up for T1 since you’re staying onsite; nothing should be sold out; you will just have to settle for some afternoon times, but still better to reserve the hardest to get in advance.

HS:
Alien Saucer Spin instead of Indiana Jones. If that doesn’t give you at least a mid-morning time, then maybe switch to Star Tours. but I’m hopeful since you’re booking HS first.

MK:
I think both Buzz and Small World would be burners. Hopefully you won’t need them.

EPCOT:
definitely Frozen
burner: Nemo?
I don’t think Mission Space is wasted during such a busy week. I’d pick between that and Spaceship Earth based on which you are more interested in. I do suspect you’ll need a burner here.

Good luck and please report back!

Thanks much!
This is what I got for LLMP. I’m a little worried about the later times for Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Would you attempt to change anything?
We will do EE for all parks, coming from Skyliner. What rides would you ride before LLMP times start? What skipper strategies might you have with this line up?

Epcot - Feb 17
Pixar 9:20 am
Spaceship Earth 12:25 pm
Frozen 1:55 pm

MK - Feb 18
We have Bid Bop 8:45 and Castle breakfast 10:10 am
Pooh 11:15 am
Pirates 11:55 am
Peter Pan 12:50 pm

HS - Feb 20
Slinky 9:50 am
Toy Story 10:45 am
Alien Saucers 11:30 am - i changed this to 905 frozen sing, thinking EE Runway MM. May open up LL for something on the way to Slinky??

Thank you for your help!

I think this is a good idea. Are you going to watch the show or just tap and run? After you tap in for Frozen, I would book LL for MFSR or RnRc. Then the other after you tap into SDD (or Alien Swirling Saucers if you are skipping RnRc). Then Alien Swirling after your next tap (or you could try for a LL on MMRR and get a second ride).

I assume Pixar is going to be a top and run. Try to get there at 9:15, tap in and then book LL for Soarin’. If you want to ride Figment (near Pixar), the stand-by line may be short. Or if your Soarin’ return time is close (it might be), then go to Soarin’ and then get a LL for Nemo (Nemo standby might be short too so check that). The rest of the morning, I would meet characters (if that is your thing) and/or do Journey of Water.

Congrats. Looks like you did well (realistically). There’s nothing I’d definitely change. Sometimes it’s a judgement call around your priorities. It would help to know what else you definitely want to do. What do you mean by “skipper strategies”?

I was assuming you’d actually watch Pixar (which is cute enough), so please clarify. After Remy I suspect you won’t have time for anything else before this (given the walking distance), but if you do, I’d say meeting Mickey & Minnie, meeting Figment, or Imagination. Agree with booking Soarin next. Before your next LL, other options are Turtle Talk, wandering the Seas, and the Moana water trail. I would not try to meet characters past the first hour (maybe half hour since it’s Presidents Day). Between now and next week, you could keep checking to see if you can move Spaceship Earth earlier. I think it’s good that Frozen is a bit later since you can’t keep running back and forth across the park. This gives you a nice divide in time between the two halves of the park.

Unfortunate that it has you crossing the park back and forth, but I don’t think it’ll be easy to change. I’m not sure you’ll have time for anything else before your 1st LL, but if you do, then something nearby and quick, like the carousel. In between LL maybe country bears, mickey’s philharmagic, or the show in front of the castle (depending on timing).

Nice that you got so early for Slinky! Another option for EE is Millenium Falcom. That’s what we’ve done (two trips) and have been able to ride twice during EE (and then again later in the day - it’s a ride we really like). Being able to get your 4th LL so early should get you any tier 1 that you want. You wouldn’t make it to Slinky til after 10 if you watch Frozen (which is worth watching), but I assume you could still get another tier 1 then, so you’re in great shape.
