A lot can change, but there’s a strong chance for tropical development in the next several days, which may form into a hurricane. There’s a potential for impacts to FL mid/late next week.

Oh dear…
Still early but looking like the movement over the Yucatan will weaken the system quite a bit. Seeing what it’s doing to central america right now though is devastating.
Now they’re hyping a big cold front coming into FL right after the storm through the end of the month. Boooooooooooo! Don’t be throwing a wrench into my pool time and Volcano Bay plans!
The models are conflicted. Some are showing it hooking around after it crosses the Yucatán and coming back to south FL, and others showing going west to Mexico.
At least for now, it appears it will lose a lot of steam over central America and Mexico. So while it is likely it swings toward FL with rain and wind, it probably won’t be a major issue. Where it comes in all depends on how far south that cold front travels.
