Have you ever not been able to park hop?

We are headed to Disney World April 25-May4. We have a Cinderella’s table reservation for April 30th at 7:25 (only one we could get), but we weren’t planning on going to magic kingdom that day. Here’s my question, has anyone ever not been able to park hop to magic kingdom?

The only time that hopping has been closed was briefly on Oct 1 for MK only. And even then people were allowed to line up and enter as people left.

And worth mentioning that Oct 1 was the 50th anniversary of MK/WDW…

Yes. I figured most people on here would know that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Really, the only time ever? So we should be fine to just park hope for dinner?

Since they restarted park hopping, yes. That is so far the only time.

Odds are very good that you will be allowed in. But if things look remotely close, I’d aim to be there just before hopping opens so that you can be in line in the rare event that they do restrict hopping.

The ADR itself will not guarantee you admittance if it is closed to hopping. (neither will a LL or ILL reservation for that matter.)

What about an ADR AND DD7 puppy dog eyes??
Surely that would be sufficient

How can I tell if “things look close”? Do they list how full they are getting?

No, Disney never releases any attendance numbers. My suggestion is to follow chat on Lines (the TP app). That has comments from people in the parks (and elsewhere).

I suppose you’d have to judge it by if any parks have closed to hoppers in the previous few days. It’s very unlikely.

My understanding is that when they enter restricted entrance protocols (which is incredibly rare over the years - mostly Xmas/New Year’s type crowds pre-Covid and only 50th since) they have tiers where hotel guests and folks with ADRs have priority. So even if they were turning some people away, you would likely still make it in with the ADR.

Bottom line is I think it would be shocking if going at the end of April if MK was restricted at all, especially to the point where they weren’t letting in ADR people…

I didn’t hear of any restrictions to hopping during Christmas.

Only Oct 1 and then only MK for a few hours. But no - closed to hopping was closed to hopping regardless of where someone was staying or if they made an ADR for a park they did not have reservations in.
