Grinchmas 2025

Dates have been released for The Grinch character meal this year. It extends out to the New Year. Plus, there doesn’t appear to be a price increase.

The meal will be going back to its former location of Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous

The “Details” state the meal consists of one entree and one non-alcoholic drink. This leads me to believe it is not returning to buffet at this location offered in past years at Circus McGurkus.

Ugh, just to meet Max I want to do this but we only have 1 day in both parks and I wouldn’t want to give up a chunk of my time to the whole tour:

  • Exclusive meet and greets with The Grinch™ and his faithful dog Max

How long is the whole thing? It doesn’t say. They should just have Max at the breakfast!

Why would they do that when they want :dollar_banknote::euro_banknote::pound_banknote::yen_banknote:

It returned last year. I went to this breakfast last December (we missed 2024 when DIL was rushed to hospital). I was surprised how much I enjoyed it although I missed all the characters visiting the table like they did before 2020.

Oh the Grinch doesn’t come sit down and pour out all the salt anymore? That was such good fun. And the whos just chilled with us for like 20 min.

No, the Grinch’s queue lines up outside. There was also a queue for the Cat in the Hat. The Grinch’s queue had an issue when we were there and the wait was over an hour. He actually gave up after about 45 minutes. (We had a booking at Disney later). One resident of Whoville did visit the table.

Thats def not worth $60pp. The point of the breakfast is not to have to stand in a line. It’d all be worth it if u could just hang out with the dog tho! lol.

Honestly, even without meeting the Grinch, we enjoyed it.

The TMs did say the wait was “unusual”. I think it was a bad day, but it can happen.

Thanks! This last year has been a blur!! I forgot I went to WDW that year to celebrate my 50th. (December 5th!)

I do still remember how much badly that trip went for your family that time!!

I’ve done it twice. I would say you are at your table for about 30 - 45 minutes.

In 2023 when the Grinch stopped coming to the table I just walked up and got to meet him with no wait. I did have one of the earliest meal times that took place even before EPA.

I haven’t met Max, but I did me "Einstein” from Back to the Future at USH this year. Due to the high demand, they were swapping out dogs every 30 minutes. I’m guess the VIP tour is a way to limit the number of dog performers they need. (As well as a moneymaker for them!)

Oh I’ve done the breakfast twice but never the VIP tour. I imagine that’s hours with the Grinch show, macy’s parade, cookie decorating and meeting of Grinch and Max. I likely won’t do it just to meet Max and I’ve done that parade twice and it’s just okay to me. Now the Grinch show I only did once and it was cute so I think it’s time to do that again.

I think it’s a “must-see” show each year!!

DD & I did spend our entire EPA one trip just queuing for the Grinch M&G. We got there 60 minutes before EPA and were in the first 20 - 30 people. (about 10 groups) We still didn’t get to meet him until about 90 minutes after park opening. It’s a great character meeting as each group got about 5 minutes with him. It was a much better meeting than the breakfast. It does mean the queue moves so slow though.

Sending the kids ( twenty something back to Epic) and us Geezers are doing the tour. With the sole intention of meeting MAX!

I had seen the show years ago and he absolutely stole the show.

There is a report on chat about booking the holiday tour. This year it starts at noon and includes reserved parade viewing instead of the evening viewing of. Hogwarts. I didn’t see that mentioned here but maybe I missed it.

Good catch!

I am looking for feedback on the holiday tour. There is a post on the Universal chat and a liner is saying it was “by far their biggest regret”. Examples included not saving any time meeting Grinch. I am looking for other experiences with the tour. Thanks!

@darkmite2 did you do the tour and include it in a trip report? The extreme negative comments is making someone nervous.

That seems a little drastic- I know it’s a “tour” but how bad could it be that they would regret attending…

I haven’t done the tour yet- but my expectations are probably low- get a cookie, see the show, and meet Max.

IMHO - It’s a big investment for some. When expectations don’t meet perceived value people get dramatic. I believe some people think they’re getting a VIP tour around the parks instead of a sampling of a couple exclusive elements.
