Our family favorite was Lion King! My husband said for him the Pixar Together show was in joint first place. We also really enjoyed Mickey and the Magician - it’s cute and features all the reliable favorites. Hope you like it.
Frozen was a hit with our 7 year old, but even the 9 year old already felt she was too cool for the audience participation lol Definitely more geared towards families with young kids than adults.
Curious–they are interacting with you in English? I guess I would expect the default language to be French, but do they have bilungual characters? Or are my assumptions just wrong?
There are tons of Brits here. Most shows are in combination of English and French and ALL cm’s speak English. Some shows like Stitch run an English version and a French version depending on the time.
Prince Charming was most definitely British and Ariel was American by their accents and they did speak to us more than Snow, Belle and Aurora so I do think those three were French and English was their second language.
This tower of terror is amazing. There is a surprise that got me that I will not reveal. Spidey is Spidey but in French. Still a good arm workout. ;-).
Tower of Terror and Phantom Manor are tied for my fave attractions which seems to mean something about me maybe? I’ve done all I super wanted to and have visited every Disney park currently existing in the world. Woo hoo!
I enjoyed these parks but they are quite small. Honestly wait times seem pretty manageable without premier pass but I’m very very spoiled and if I can wait 5-10min instead of 25-30 still a win to me. Crush and Pan are both always long but nothing else really is. TOT was 25 early afternoon on a Fri and so was Avengers Assemble at 530pm. The walkways do have that cluster Disney feel tho. But it feels less crowded than American parks. Crowd control is a bit lax here and just in general feels like there are less CMs to ask questions. I suppose that’s part cultural and part less crowds.
Today we left the hotel at 945am and were at the Frozen show by 950-ish. This hotel rocks! I got that raclette sandwich and it was still warm when I got back to my room. I would 1000% choose this hotel if it’s in your price range.
Agree. Considering the location, I thought it was very reasonable when we went last year (about $550-600 a night). Grand Californian is not nearly as convenient to DL, and it’s easily $1000 a night. Same with places like the Poly and Grand Floridian. It’s a gorgeous hotel and the location is unlike anywhere else.
I think it’s a cleaner or an incense. It’s musky. It’s not mildew for sure but whatever it is it’s not for me. The room does not smell like that nor the halls.
I see people smoking vapes and cigarettes (in the rain no less) all over the park. It is France after all. It’s kind of foreign to me cuz it’s disallowed so much back home. But I do remember this smell from my youth.
This hotel is hard to get your morning coffee unless you’re okay with the pods in the room. The room service thing is 60 euro and I don’t want all that; it comes with a lot. They didn’t leave the doorknob thing for breakfast in the room and only had one at the front desk so it was hard to get. Had to actually call the room service number from the room to get that menu. You have to put it on your door by 2am. They did have a la carte things but not a la carte drinks. I just want coffee and I don’t want a full buffet breakfast either and those are the options. You can pay for the buffet but you have to add it for every night or not at all for breakfast or book the deluxe or castle club rooms where they have the clubs with buffet breakfasts. That also seemed a lot for some morning coffee. The line for the Cable Car Bakery is long in the morning so your best bet is probably the Market house. My mom wanted to go to Disney Village and go to Le Comptoir but saw the crowds waiting to get in and decided that looked dangerous to leave our safe little bubble so I’d just go into Disneyland for your fix to either the market or cable car.
The bathroom does smell of mildew but the room does not.
There is no light switch for the toilet room. It’s motion activated but the main bath area is a couple of switches
I have no idea where tonight’s restaurant is lol. La foret secret so I’ll report back once we find it but the others are easy to find all together. On the “2nd” floor. This gets me in Europe.
Did I mention above our apartment elevator in the city called the ground floor, floor 0. Zero is the absence of something so this disturbed me. It was the real twilight zone elevator lol.
My daughter loves Spider-Man so I looked at those suites at marvel hotel and they are outrageous; I cannot remember how much now but this room was much much much cheaper. This was much more reasonable so I’m glad we went with this given the convenience, the terrace and the room is large and pretty.
Though it was hard to wake up, I’m still not acclimated, massage and facial in the spa in the hotel was very worth it. Now can we get into space mountain (it’s been closed) before 12:30 royal banquet lunch. You cannot buy the individual premier pass until you get into park so depends on if girls are ready when I get to room.
So pro tip if you’re buying premier one. You have to tap in but don’t have to be in park so I just ran and did that so I can buy a post lunch Star Wars pass once the time I want comes available. At least for the first part of the day they seem to be immediately available but I do hate that I have to be on my phone monitoring for the time I want.
