Is this a good way to spend an hour or so for a first time Epcot visitor? Trying to decide if we have the capacity time wise without cutting out key Epcot things. I’m taking my friend for Marathon Weekend and we’re running Dopey. She’s never been to Disney World ever. I’m planning on an afternoon/evening in Epcot on marathon day for which I will be setting expectations very low as to how much we will be able to walk/do/see after 4 straight days of racing and realize we may only make it a few hours - probably a half day at best.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to spend a quarter of my first-ever hours in WDW in a lounge, even a very nice lounge.

I tend to agree with ParkRanger. There are plenty of quick walk up bars to enjoy a drink. Epcot can easily be a 2 day park for me- often is. You have such a short time there as a first time visitor. I don’t even think I would recommend doing any TS restaurants with such limited time.

I would say probably not.

A first time visitor is, as you suggest, going to be more interested in seeing and doing as many attractions and such as possible during their time. Especially if you’re having limited time there.

It is beautiful in there, but I feel like a lot of what I appreciate as a long-time repeat visitor is because I’m a long-time repeat visitor; I think a lot of the details and easter eggs will be lost on a first-timer.

It’s also super expensive.

If your friend is a cocktail buff or a foodie, it might be worth it for a celebratory cocktail but overall I think it’s a pass on a first-go.

100% agree. Epcot is the most enjoyable to me when I can spend multiple days exploring it.

We probably will not. My ONLY thought regarding sit down dining is dead legs might appreciate the reprieve from walking.

Excellent point.

I feel like I’m going to have a difficult time planning this day (and our days in the parks in general) because I want to make it such a magical trip for her but the reality is she will love what I am able to work in because it’ll all be new and magical and she won’t even know what we’re missing out on.

I agree with Park Ranger

I never have trouble finding a table around Epcot. They have a few large indoor QS options- the Lands Pavilion, Connections, Regal Eagle. We sit around the lake any chance we can get too.

Bingo. I forget about this when I’m with Disney newbies - they think everything is magical in ways I’d forgotten. So fun to watch.
