Soo… are we thinking Genie+ rates will be back down to normal-ish after this week? It seems as though the rates are high but the guests must be buying them because the return times are moving FAST.
We are 30 days out from our May trip and it’s making me a bit nervous that my stacking strategy will not work out as planned. Hopeful that things will cool off a bit after this week… am I fooling myself??
I don’t think it will be $35 after next week but definitely anticipate 22 or so. We’ll have a good idea after next week. The times should go back to normal too.
I didn’t realize that there is a race the 13-16th. We are there the 8-14th, and I currently have our park days planned as the 9-12th, so hopefully we’ll skirt by that.
Yeah… I’m not looking forward to paying even more… but part of me feels like I probably still would… However, it would be incredibly unfortunate to pay that much, and then see all of the return times fly off the shelf, making the purchase not nearly as valuable.
We went in May last year. From what I have seen, I would described the FP return times for our May trip as a 4 out of 10 (with 10 being return times moving super fast and 1 being return times moving slowly).
The only day we stacked for the evening was our HS day. We got LL for SDD, MMRR, TSMM and A2S. If the modify feature was available at the time, we likely would have been able to also get either MFSR or ToT.
I miss the old days when we complained about paying $15 (plus tax) for G+. It’s kinda like the old saying, “I wish I was still as fat as I thought I was in high school”.
I do remember the day MaxPass debuted in DL and I just remember feeling so deflated bc yea $15 wasn’t horrible but knowing that was the bottom price and it would only go up from there.
People panicked when it reached $29 over Thanksgiving and Christmas and it went back down. It’s variable pricing so it’s not going to stay at $35 permanently. The new ceiling is pretty high though.
We’re looking at next year spring break and I can only imagine how high it’ll be I wish they’d just include it in tickets so we don’t have to buy it day of!
If they did they’d probably make it a gamble at this point. Buy tickets with G+ included for an extra $50/day or take your chances on what they decide to charge. I wish I was kidding.
So we just got home yesterday. Crowds were serious and G+ pricing was no fun.
We only bought it for 3 days so it didn’t bust the budget too badly (I had already anticipated 29). An extra 72 total. But using it did require a thorough understanding of the product because return times were all over.
But a solid plan, judicious use of G+, and appropriate expectations helped a lot.
But if last week was your “once ina lifetime” trip …it would have been tough to do. We had to make several choices to skip things that we just couldn’t fit into the plan.
