Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Pigeon Forge

I flew into Knoxville and it was a very easy drive to Pigeon Forge. rental car was a must for us, and at Knoxville airport it’s super convenient, you can walk right to the cars, no shuttle required. A week was enough for us, 2 days at Dollywood let us get our fill of all the coasters and shows. (We skipped the waterpark).

It’s been 25 years since I visited, but I vividly remember a mini-golf course that went down the mountain. You had to ride a train/trolley up, then got to play the whole way down. That was a highlight for my 14 year old self

Yes! I just watched someone play that course on YouTube this week. We can’t wait to try it!

We were just trying to get from Nashville to North Carolina right before Hurricane Florence hit (yes- we were driving into a hurricane) and Pigeon Forge was between us and our destination.

We had no idea what we were getting into.

My husband created a brand-new language created entirely of swear words. I’m sure Dolly was blushing, wherever she was.
