FPs for MVMCP with a dummy account

In order to get extra FPS during the MVMCP do I have to create a dummy account to purchase the tickets? Then do I just use the party tickets to get entry to the park and to use the FPs instead of the magic band?

Also, when can I select FPs? Is it 60 days before the party? I am staying at CBR, but I won’t have room reservations on the dummy account.
