FP+ times for shows

Hi all -

I am prepping to book my fast passes on Monday and was checking out the available fast pass info on touringplans.com and I am noticing that the FP+ times don’t line up with the show performance times.

For instance for Festival of the Lion King it says available Fast Passes are:
9:30am‑9:45am · 10:30am‑10:45am · 11:30am‑11:45am · 12:30pm‑12:45pm · 1:30pm‑1:45pm · 2:30pm‑2:45pm · 3:30pm‑3:45pm · 4:30pm‑4:45pm · 5:30pm‑5:45pm

And the show times for the same date are:
10:00pm, 11:00pm, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm

I assume I am to book the one before the show time - but I find this utterly confusing. Can anyone confirm how these align and/or explain?

Date in question is May 22nd. But I checked for March 20th too just to see and same was true.

Thanks,
Raina

P.S. I also read in another thread that maybe even though TP is suggesting fast passes for shows they might not be necessary - but in this case I don’t need for something else so was going to book anyway.

Yes, this is correct. Book the 9:30 FPP time if you want the 10:00 show, or the 10:30 if you want the 11:00 show. They give you a 15 minute window, and after that standby will be let in so make sure you are there during your window.

I just wondering Do you need A Fast Pass for the Lion King???

“Need” is relative. I booked a fast pass for Lion King the last time I went to AK because I had an open FP slot to fill - just like the OP in this situation.
