So I couldnt get FOP or SDD - if there is something late afternoon/evening - is it better to pick up and try to modify over and over for an earlier time? Or should i not waste my time and just rope drop or try for same day drops?

Get any time you can and then modify. You may get it to the time you want. You can still rope drop if you don’t get it early enough.

I know some liners disagree, but same day drops aren’t guaranteed especially if there have been technical or weather related issues with the attraction. This was the case on our last visit in May when the FoP afternoon drops didn’t happen. Luckily, we had a ridden it earlier in the day.

The same day drops are great, but I agree that they don’t always work, so don’t count on them.

Yep - this. Keep. Rope drop and then change it once you got the ride in.

Keep looking. Have hope. I got FOP one Sunday morning at 9:30. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was for 7:10pm, but that’s better than not having it at all.
