I’ve heard great things about this parade but I’m wondering if you consider it a “must do”. We are taking a short (4 day) trip in early September. We start with an 8:00 am breakfast at CRT and am not sure DD4 and DD5 will last in the heat through 3:30. We were planning to head back to the resort after the parade. Thoughts?
I am not a parade person at all, but it’s a good one. After you head back to the resort is that it for the day? If so, I think you can try to stay…maybe find somewhere cool for lunch. You could even leave MK and monorail to one of the monorail resorts for lunch/AC/relax in lobby for a bit.
Good question! I’m also interested to hear the answer. Our first trip was in Feb. and I made plans for us to see all of the parades and nighttime shows/fireworks. It kind of backfired. My kids did NOT like the crowds and didn’t enjoy the electrical parade at all. (There wasn’t an afternoon parade at MK when we were there.) I suspect it might be a very personal choice. Some kids love parades. Some kids really don’t. I’d suggest keeping an open mind for either possibility. It won’t be a huge loss if you decide you’re too hot and tired and choose to go back to your resort in the afternoon.
Must do. No question.
I too am not a parade person but I have watched it twice.
Not a parade person either and I think I’ve seen it at least 6 times now.
Thanks everyone! Sounds like the consensus is yes. What makes it so great, just out of curiosity?
The floats are amazing! Also, there really is nothing quite like a fire breathing dragon!
The floats are pretty amazing. Theming detail, color, movement, etc. The characters and their interaction with the guests are fun. Every time I see it, I find new things that I’ve missed.
It was awesome
I am a proud parade person; it is one of the things Disney does best. I love all Disney parades and I think parades are great for little ones. Great way to see characters.
However, I am in the minority in that I did not love FOF. Maybe I need to see it again. The costumes were fantastic but a little unrelatable. I can’t think of a better word.
Anyway, my DS5 was not that into it - he was just cranky that afternoon. I think it depends on how the kids are feeling that day.
I typically avoid parades like the plaque, but based on the videos I’ve seen, this will be a must-do for me on my next trip.
This comment may sound like some others, but I’ll share anyway. I’m not much of a fan of parades, but was entertained by this one.
We didnt used to be parade people then happened upon the electric parade one night and just fell in love. Then it was the Christmas parade, Jingle parade at AK, and now the FOF parade for sure! It is just beautiful and fun I say do it for sure.
