Yup… at least it’s too hot for chiggers. Those bites last forever.
Diagon Alley was butts to nuts crowded, so I skipped Gringotts for now. Headed out to find my room, maybe change clothes.

We checked in early in the morning so we could get our EPs and still make RD and there was no line at all.

That might be the only time! Or maybe late in the evening. We’ve seen lines that seem to move like molasses any time from 10 am to about 6 pm!

Not a big fan of the room. First, I booked garden view and they gave me pool view, in the lowest floor. If I were planning a nap (like I do during HHN or before the Informer events) I’d be very annoyed by the amount of pool noise. I can hear it well enough to recognize the songs.
And these chairs are almost child-sized… I have short legs and I still feel like a giant sitting here. On the other hand, there are also 2 bar stools.

The main room itself is smaller than I expected. It might be slightly bigger than rooms at RPR, but not by much. If say it’s in line with the rooms at Sapphire Falls.
The bathroom is very small, and the door almost touches the toilet. You have to open the door fully, then go in and stand on the other side of the toilet to close it.
Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the size of the rooms at Portofino, but this hotel actually costs more, so I expected a nicer room, and at least a better bathroom than you get at the All Stars. I got a passholder rate of $357, and I feel like that’s too much for this room. The non-passholder weeknight rate for this week is $755/night, and if I paid that and had ever stayed at any of the other Premiers or any WDW deluxe for comparison I would be very unhappy with this.

Have you stayed at HRH before? We had a much better room there when we stayed.

I’m imagining you as a reverse Edith Ann! 
I think you might have been unlucky getting a room in an odd spot with less square footage. Or maybe I had a better room category when I was there. 
Pretty sure the bathroom wasn’t so tight.

So, I’ve made no secret of the fact that I think most Universal food is garbage. I decided to try Mel’s, because it’s like, the only place I’ve never eaten inside the parks.
It’s garbage. The burger tastes like it was rolled in salt, cooked, and then salted. It’s basically inedible. The apple pie was decent.
The lines are pretty intense, so I’ve switched into non-ride attraction mode. The summer tribute store is fun… it’s themed like an old school video store.
There’s also an HHN merch reveal today… new shirts.

The weird angle at the end of the bed is the same, so I think it was the same bathroom.
Also, I’m happy to give you the chance to re-live your glory days!

Current situation:
Sometime gave the children money and pencils… they requested The Poop Song.
And it’s like nobody else is requesting except me (power ballads, but these guys don’t have a ton of vocal range, so I’m limited in my choices), and someone who’s requsting all old patriotic songs and oooold country. The weird part is that nobody seems to be enjoying those songs, so I can’t even tell who is requesting them.

They’re switching out… a lady in the next rotation would be nice. Except the guy on the right, who has been doing all the old timey ones, is finishing with Bad Romance so that’s nice.
And yes, there is a lady. Let’s see what kind of range she’s got before I start dropping the slips for Alanis and 4 Non Blondes and maybe even Whitney
