Hi! This is my first ever post here
though I’ve been a TouringPlans subscriber for many years! I’m traveling to EPIC Universe with someone who will either be in a boot or a short leg cast. This person has been cleared by their dr to ride roller coaters… but they are on crutches/knee scooter. I understand they probably won’t be able to ride stardust racers or monsters unleashed as the boot/cast could possibly be a hazard to others..was wondering if the team members will be likely to let them on most other rides? Has anyone had experience like this? Thank you so much!
You should be good on most rides, unfortunatley Uni hasn’t updated their accessability guide with Epic Universe yet. My only comment is Epic has more stairs than other parks, so you might run into issues navigating those (in queue lines and around the park, especially Celestial Park and SNW).
My understanding is that there are elevators for most of the stairs. I didn’t test it because I didn’t ride any rides at all.
Thank you! We went yesterday…we took a LOT of elevators. Most team members didn’t say a word about the cast but sometimes we got a speech that the ride could worsen injuries. One ride - Frankenstein - had to prove could walk 2 steps with one crutch before boarding. Everyone was very nice. We didn’t have express and lines were long for certain rides but had a wheelchair which helped to wait. Team members took the wheelchair/crutches when we boarded and then returned at the end of the ride. Elevators were always available when there were stairs. I was with my teenage daughter who had been cleared by Dr to ride anything but I didn’t allow her to ride stardust racers. #WorstMomEver. We had a great time ![]()
