When do you go?

Fall 2025
I don’t think that was an oversight. All of these shortcomings seem intentional. The way you describe your experience is that this place is for people who have more money than sense (which may very well be true). Lobbies don’t make money. Security doesn’t make money. Quick service doesn’t make (as much) money. Table service makes money. The rooms make money. They were maximizing every big revenue stream at the expense of the “costs of doing business”
Once demand tanks, so will the prices.
What exactly are you saying here about people like me who have booked Helios? We all have various reasons for spending our vacation budget in different ways and typically it is not because we “have more money than sense.”
Ok. I admit, bad choice of words. But it does seem very very overpriced for what out is
I didn’t take it personally. I’m gonna wait it out and see if they fix the entry issues and we have VIP one day and express the next so don’t have to do early entry but if I’m not gonna make it to my 930am vip tour cuz the line takes an hour to get thru that might make me switch hotels.
Also I agree with you that it doesn’t seem as nice as the other premier hotels. The rooms are small and cheap looking to me. But I also have a goal to try all the hotels and these new ones are the only ones left for me to try.
Can we blame the tariffs? If not, let’s do it anyway.
I am not sure that they can after watching the videos at least for early entry. I am basing this on the Grand Californian entry to Disneyland- it’s been open for forever and that line in the morning is ridiculous. It was faster in our experience to use the main entrance.
That said we are very excited for our stay at Grand Helios. I can see that entrance being incredibly helpful once park hopping is allowed in January.
Ok if it’s like GC I’m gonna be fine. I’ve done that multiple times and never had a problem.
I hadn’t looked at them in a long time. When reservations first opened I booked a couple of placeholders. The prices were more Sapphire Falls and less HR, RPR, and PB. Now, ![]()
Starting at about 1:30 there is a decent view of the security area at Helios inside the hotel. So not ridiculous but they definitely have more room to expand if they move it outside sorta like the walking path entrance next to maragitaville.
Personally i think it’s way too early to judge that entrance…ridiculous as it sounds until the newness wares off a bit.
Maybe that’s why I’m okay with it. It was almost half the price of the RPR like maybe $400/$750. Has it gone up since then?
During my trip in mid-June, there’s almost no availability. What there is is in the $900-$1,100 range. For standard rooms.
Wow, I just went and looked which is harder to tell than just looking cuz I have a package but I believe with taxes and an extra adult in one of the rooms I’m paying $500/night but I don’t know how that’s possible because I have two rooms. I do feel like each room was $300+ a night before taxes when I booked but I do not have park view.
That makes the hotel seem better, so I’m sticking. We’ll really be okay day one as long as we make 900am VIP tour checkin time for a 9:30am start.
This may be a misunderstanding based on pricing. @davej may have booked when the rates were in the mid-hundreds. They now appear to be in the high hundreds and I would question the value proposition at that price point.
I’m glad you locked it in at those prices! I originally booked it too, because the prices were similar to Sapphire. Over New Years weekend the prices are now comparable to the resorts with EP.
Yes, I did see them start to go up once tickets went on sale but I already had my rooms and just had to call to add Epic tickets which didn’t change the price of my room. I feel like it was like $370/night per room with just two adults but I have one room with three adults there is a $25-$50 fee per night for that extra adult. I didn’t get park view because they were close to $500/night before taxes. Now I’ve seen the city view I’m perfectly happy with that too. We’ll just go to the bar one night for the park view!
But I can totally understand turning your head at $800-$1000/night! That’s insanity. When I looked for my mid-Dec dates RPR was a little under $800/night I mean and that comes with the Unlimited Express so that makes a little more sense. But without out, just why?!?! I wouldn’t pay that price either, I’d’ve (double contraction!) stayed at RPR for that price for the express.
