Epic Universe News & Planning Thread

Weirdly, at least at the sample dates I looked at, it was CHEAPER to buy a two day ticket where you get one day at Epic and one day at ONE of the other two parks (not a park-to-park), than it is to JUST buy a single day at Epic. Perhaps they assume if you buy the 2 day, you are more likely to book an onsite hotel and/spend more in food.

It could also be that they are trying to balance the crowds. They know people will spend X amount for every day they spend in A park. I would guess that people with a ticket to a non-Epic park will use it even if they are coming for Epic. So, they’d rather have people spending 50% of their time at non-Epic, than for example 1 day at non-Epic and 3 days at Epic.

That’s nuts. Two days cheaper than 1!

I’m twiddling my thumbs waiting for express or at least VIP group tour. Like in Japan if you have express you get access to Nintendo world so I’m hoping for that but we’ve got two days in case and I assume monsters and Harry Potter won’t have express so having two days means we can run to a different one first thing in early entry.

I just looked for this. For the date I looked at, at first it looked like the two-day was cheaper than the one. But the calendar was showing me only the price for one of the two days, and when I followed through, the two-day price was (as you would expect) about double that.

Hmm. Okay. Maybe I misread it. The two days price listed for one park to park and one Epic, however, was actually MORE than the single day, so i don’t know. Guess I have to look again!

ETA: Yeah. I misread. The price listed was price per day, not the actual cost of the ticket. (Does ANYONE want to know the per day cost for these things instead of total cost? Seems silly to do it that way.)

Very silly.

Same. If im doing it for my 40th bday, im not gonna wait in 3 3 hour lines for the day. Id just rather do something else and go back a couple years later.

Thankfully most of the rides have single rider options, which will help while we wait for Express or VIP - but I truly can’t imagine waiting in that Ministry of Magic line.

It will be interesting to see which SR lines are good and which are not worth it or longer. I am excited they have these rather than doing the odd and even party divide thing where they fill every seat through math. Booooo math.

Idle speculation. When Epic VIP tours offered, I wonder if we could get some TP people to go in on a tour together. Seems like that would save some cash. My group is three people that are interested in everything, so we wouldn’t have special requirements. I guess people can always join a random VIP tour. But, it seems like it would be more fun with people as enthusiastic as the average TP’er.

They’ve said they’re going to release Express and VIP products before park opening, so I’d wait just a little bit longer.

The cost of an annual package for photos has gone up.

I really hope UOR stops using an outside vendor for photos one day. Photo Pass is under utilized and understaffed by the “Amazing Photo” company. Plus, they could offer it as a part of APs or UXP to incentivize those sales for very little investment

It really bothers me that I have to waste time in my morning to go get it setup when I’ve prepurchased and that then I have to stand in a long line to attach that photo to my account (like Hagrids will have a 20 minute line to pick up your photo)

It needs to be integrated into the App! You could scan a QRC or something at the end of the ride to get the pictures

I’ve never waited more than a minute or two for most rides to get my photos.
