Epic Universe News & Planning Thread

We did this last summer for a week and had a great time. Happy to share details of our trip if you decide to go that direction.

Awesome! My mom suggested Galtinburg but we’ve all been there. They have this resort on Table Rock Lake, Watermill Cove. Looks fun! And the cabins for 9 people (7 being adults) look reasonable.

We stayed at Watermill Cove a total of three times. The location is fantastic with it being so close to Silver Dollar City. Loved the “cabins,” although some can be as big as 8 BR and 8 BA. They are downright cheap when comparing against our vacation next week to Hilton Head!

That’s amazing to hear! Thank you!

I wish we had an “anti-heart” icon to click, for people who have bad things to say about Dark Universe

#1 Dark Universe
#2 Isle of Berk (flawless trilogy, and it’s the only land of its kind)
#3 Celestial Park (intrigued by how it stretches the length of the park, as opposed to the Port of Entry or Main Street USA)
#4 Super Nintendo World (Japan and Hollywood already have one; more interested in Donkey Kong Country than Super Mario Land)
#5 Ministry of Magic (so we enter during Voldemort’s reign, but exit 70 years in the past – and in a different country)

Incorrect, but I’ve decided to forgive you on the ground that they have not yet released details of this final part of the park.

If the marquee attraction is on the scale of RotR, as rumored, this will got to my #1!!

I would’ve preferred they went ahead and made the area “Fantastic Beasts”. I’m so excited for the area, but they had to pivot after the movie’s “meh” performance. Just looking at the model & such is so easy to see what it was “supposed” to be. I’m sure it’ll be brilliant anyway, but I did enjoy the Fantastic Beasts stories

i’m going to wait for the reveal of the land before writing off Ministry

I really liked the first one, and was hopeful…but I feel the subsequent movies grew increasingly weaker. What was odd was that Rowling had teased that we were going to get to see into the American wizarding school in this series, which would have been cool…but it never came to fruition.

I’m curious to see how they resolve the mixture of the original series with FB.

Has anyone posted this yet?

I just saw the article and was about to, thanks!

Attractions Magazine seems to be the only news site reporting this.

UOR must be expecting huge demand for Epic. Imagine how much UOR could charge for an Epic VIP Tour?!?

Hmmm I’ll be interested to see how this develops as we get closer to actual opening. As an AP holder, I was expecting to pay out of pocket for epic initially but there is no need to purchase multi day tix. TBD I guess!!

Seems very Disney of them and not in a good way. Also, unless changed or clarified very AP non friendly.

ETA: 1 day to explore up to 5 new areas??? And if you come from overseas you still only get 1 day?? Smh.

I’m not a fan of this ticket model at all. I do understand that this park opening is going to be huge. My hope is that this is limited to the first few months at most.

This is another reason why I am waiting until 2026. They’ll have all the Operational, Ticketing and such sorted out by then. (I hope! :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:)

I have never been disappointed in how Universal treats its AP holders (unlike Disney). I expect they will have separate plans for APs, possibly preview days.

Same. I’m confident they will do right by us

I demand consistency

We enter in 1997 London (or 2007, going by the movies) but somehow exit into 1930s Paris? Where is the logic?

If we’re using a Time Turner (which cannot go back more than five hours) how did we also travel 300 miles away?

If we’re using the Floo Network to escape (as was done in the story) how did we end up seven decades in the past?

I totally agree with all this! This is my issue with the area. You can see how they started building Fantastic Beasts then pivoted once it was too late to do a complete overhaul. People would’ve still loved the area as Fantastic Beasts because it was part of WWOHP. If the ride is as good as they say it’s going to be then it wouldn’t matter which franchise they’d used. The fact that this new land would’ve been HP themed is enough to draw in people!

I loathe all the new Star Wars movies, but think RotR is the best ride anywhere. I don’t avoid SW:GE because it’s the movies I don’t like. I go in because it’s in the SW lore and has the best attraction.
