Epic Universe News & Planning Thread

Just catching up. Crazy about no EP; I wonder how long that will last. I think I’ll wait then instead of going at opening because hotel included EP is one of the things that makes Universal better for me.

When they cut to Volcano Bay, the tall guy on the right is my bartender at Dancing Dragons! His name is Chris and he is the one that got the new Southern Comfort cocktail on the menu!! Nice guy!!

I am so excited. Disney better get its act together. This made me emotional. I think this is going to have that Disney magic with the Universal thrill.

Almost exactly two years since this thread started and Universal has released the Official Artist Rendering with a “2025” posted opening

That view of Celestial Park is gorgeous. I wasn’t expecting it to look so beautiful! I don’t know why. I guess I was kind of expecting that central hub to be more utilitarian looking!

I guess there are no more fireworks.

Did anyone else notice that Mark specifically says, “This give us the opportunity to bring people to UOR for AN ENTIRE WEEK of the most incredible…” (Timestamp = 5:00)

They are setting their sights on making sure people come to Orlando just to stay inside their bubble now!!

Yeah, I noticed that myself. While we already do longer trips to UOR, I almost felt like that line was in there was a tease to Disney. As if to say, “We aren’t the add-on park any longer…we are the complete vacation!”

I still don’t think I will do an entire week at Universal. I’m going to have to gauge but at most I could see 5 days, more likely 3-4. Which is still a lot.

If I had enough time, I would do one day for each park with an extra day at Epic (or miscellaneous). If I was crunched for time I would do one day for IoA/USF, one day at VB with pickups at the legacy parks, and then one day at Epic.

While I don’t see myself doing an entire week, I do think I could do a 4-5 day trip in 3 or so years. My current pass expires in 6 weeks, and I don’t see myself going back until the end of 2026. It will be interesting to do 1-2 days in epic and 1-2 days in the rest of the resort.

Y’all are making me feel weird! All my trips are at least a week!!! (no joke!!)

Given that you can eat the food at UOR, you have twice as much to explore as I do. In addition, I’m still pretty limited in PTO, so I make the most of short trips while I can. And I can’t do Friday night or Saturday for religious reasons, so they aren’t on my radar anyway. So I’m much more inclined to shorter trips no matter where I’m going. The longest I did at Disney was a 5 day trip.

I was just being silly about my addiction!! I confess, typically, by day five I’m about ready to wrap it up. If I I didn’t go to VB at least once, usually twice, in a trip I’d be done by then for sure!!

Solution to that is easy. Just change religions! (Totally joking.)

We did 8 nights at UOR last May. It was probably a day or two too long, although no one was complaining! But then, we never get Express Pass or anything, so we like a more relaxed vibe in the parks. We also took a couple side-trips to Disney Springs.

But with Epic Universe, I can see filling up that week completely.
