Wow, still down? I skipped my evening refresh when I got an “this site has used their data allotment” error in place of my usual curl script output.

When looking at 2-nights or longer for this room in January, the chart gives you a feeling you might see some more listings at this price point as we get closer to January…
But, when looking at 4-nights or longer the number of dots goes way down:

PRICE DROPS
These all originally listed 2 weeks ago on the same day - and all dropped today to suspiciously low prices. If I wanted to go in Sept, I’d give these prices serious consideration even though it is pretty far out!
5-night Poly Studio 09/06 orig $406/night now $336/n or 36% under median
6-night Poly Studio 09/12 orig $421/night now $348/n or 34% under median
4-night Poly Studio 09/13 orig $406/night now $336/n or 36% under median
Also: these are pretty OK prices for BC any time, but in January they are more like 9% under median.
3-night BC Studio 01/04 orig $480/night now $390/n or 17% under median
3-night BC Studio 01/04 orig $465/night now $390/n or 17% under median
But, in reality: anything lower in January is mostly rando - the under listings at BC tend to stay in tight with the median line.

3-night OKW Studio 12/20 for $233/night or 18% under median
This is another case where the December-specific median for this room is higher than the overall one my system uses for comparison - so the 18% under median above undersells the goodness of this OKW price: it is really more like 28% under.
1-night GF Studio 01/19 for $357/night or 31% under
For January, I think we’d expect to see at least a few more GF 1-nighters between now and January, and some of those lower than this. But, again: can’t count on expectations.
In general, even though I’ve never paid that much cash for a room in my life, based on data to me it feels like anything sub $400 for GF is a win almost all year.

Can DVC rentals be transferred to other people or no bc of the contract.
I mean - if I’ve rented one can I let someone else check in?

You can but typically you put their names on the reservation as the guests, so they can check in themselves.
There are limitations on renting out commercially, but it’s quite common for DVC owners to rent out their points either through brokers or to friends. I have stayed on rented points a few times.

Oh lol I misread this and forgot where we are. I would think if you just put different people’s names on the reservation the owner / renter will be none the wiser.

I believe that any information on the reservation has to be changed by the owner - so you can’t have other people check in without having them updating the reservation.
But, any owners with more detailed info, now is your time to shine with better info!

That’s right, but they (the broker) usually asks you to submit a form with the guests names. If you’ve already done that and want to change / amend / add, you can contact the broker and update it. I believe I did this once when I added my DBIL to a trip last minute … I may have even been able to do it myself by calling.

That’s as low as you might expect to see for this room in November
…and the few around this price that do appear tend to be fairly close to check in.
6-night Poly 2 Bedroom 01/25 for $1,332/night or 34% under
This one is a super low volume room, so don’t necessarily trust the median - but there has only been one multi-night and a couple of 1-nighter listings lower.
