Realized today that my spreadsheet that generates the active rentals charts wasn’t grabbing all the active rentals for the last 2 weeks or so.

(The number of data rows exceeded the number of rows in my lookup formulas. When I first created it I didn’t contemplate hitting 40K rentals. )

With the corrected charts: We have had a bit of an uptick in active rentals recently and are now only down about 10% vs last year. If we follow the same route, should be somewhat of a plateau until end of year then another jump up… we’ll see!

21-night (NOT A TYPO) Poly Studio start 1/8 for bottom-priced $339/n or 35% under median

Even looking at all rentals 2-nights or longer this is at the bottom of the price scale for any time of the year. There happens to be a strong cluster of Poly studios in this time frame around the same price this year, but 21-nights is a super-rarity.

If you just look at 7-nights or longer, this rental stands alone in January and most other days of the year.

Haha I wonder if the agency got a new associate whose task was to book all of the speculative 1-night rentals and he or she somehow misunderstood the assignment?

Like, back in 2005, when a Japanese brokerage firm was trying to trade 1 share of a particular stock for ¥610,000 ($5,041). But flipped the numbers, and sold 610,000 shares for ¥1 ($0.008). That mistake cost them $225 million in a split second

TSE was a wreck back then. Even in 2005 I can’t understand how their system allowed them to sell 41x’s their outstanding shares.

If you can get there, phenomenal deal, lowest 5-night or longer price for this room:
5-night Aulani 1BR Villa 12/1 for $322/n or 68% under median

4-night DisneyLAND Hotel Studio 1/1/25 for $334/n or 36% under

There are a bunch of lower Sept rentals out there already because lower points season. I don’t really care about cents/point as owners do, just rental vs cash rate. Cash rate for this room after tax is $651.

6-night CC Studio 9/13 for $320/n or 18% under

Note there are some codes at the top of this site’s page to take another $20 off:

3-night BW 1BR Villa (Boardwalk View) 12/17 for $464/n or 36% under

Interesting Boardwalk tidbits:

  • Out of over 40,000 dedicated rentals, 3,707 of them have been at BW.

  • 72 of those (1.9%) were BW View rooms.

  • 463 of the 3,707 were 1BR & only ONE of those was a BW View. (0.22%.)

  • That rental was a 1-night in Sept for $338.

Interesting. Is this the first time a promo like this has been spotted? I’m just curious because I’ve never noticed confirmed reservations with promos before.

They’ve had promos over the years since I started grabbing, I try to point them out if I notice.

But I only visit very random deals to make sure my links are ok so not sure how often it really happens.
