Is there any chance to snag a dvc rental for late May? If so, any suggestions as to which to request? TIA.
Definitely - there should be availability at SSR at the very least. Check out When to Book | DVC Rentals | David's Vacation Club Rentals for a general idea of what is available at a given time in advance of your stay.
Also, check out the direct from owner rental market, as there may be confirmed reservations for rent that match your stay, or points for rent for far less than what the brokers charge - MouseOwners.com and DISBoards both have DVC rental boards on their forums (although the MouseOwners board is closed right now until after New Year’s).

The author is a really cool guy who will probably answer any additional questions you may have on renting DVC. Especially if you ask nicely and offer him a cookie. He really likes cookies.
