Does this mean I got an upgrade?

So I logged into the App to get the zip code for the Beach Club to play around with Amazon Prime Now grocery ordering and note that my room type is no longer “Standard View” but is listed as “Water View”. Is this meaningful? Or is the app just glitchy and I’m getting excited for no good reason?

FAX was sent yesterday, check-in is Saturday so it seems early for them to have actually assigned rooms, but I do have my fingers crossed it’s real

I would call guest services and ask! Sounds like maybe an upgrade…

If I call and ask they may just say “…oops - you didn’t pay for that! We’ll fix that for you!” though which is what I’d hope to avoid. Guess I’m in the cautiously optimistic phase and will see what I get on Saturday…

Make sure that they are not charging you for an ‘upgrade’ that you didn’t ask for though

Definitely true, but I figure that’s pretty easy to combat given the room has already been paid for…Guess I need to start studying my credit card bill for rogue upgrade charges just to be sure…

LOL - I am so bad - they could get almost anything past me.
I pretty much charge everything to my room and I don’t look at the detail of what the charges are very closely

I just checked into The Boardwalk after moving from Contemporary. I too was “magically “ upgraded from Garden view to water view. I’m dubious because I really want a deck. The last time I was here I signed up for water view but I was one of the few with no deck #crossingfingers!!!

Hopefully the deck works out for you. Worst case I presume you could always go to the front desk and request to be moved potentially if they don’t come through with a balcony that’s to your liking. Could be mildly time consuming though so crossing my fingers you got the right magic and a sweet upgrade with a balcony…
