Do you think Disney is stealth cancelling Candlelight Processional?

So Disney Parks Blog came out yesterday with holiday entertainment around the parks. I couldn’t help but notice Candle Processional was not mentioned. Coupled with no Candlelight Dining Packages this December, I’m starting to wonder if it’s actually going to happen. Time is running short, they typically start Christmas stuff in what, 3 weeks?

Interesting. Makes me wonder if they have been trouble getting the performers. It takes a such a large contingency of performers, not to mention recruiting the narrators…maybe it just isn’t able to happen this year? Because you’re right…this should have already been available for people to start booking.

Seems that way …

It has already been announced to be returning this year… https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/09/beloved-candlelight-processional-returns-nov-26-for-the-epcot-international-festival-of-the-holidays/

Yeah…just unusual that it was announced a month ago, and now the update on Christmas offerings is void of mentioning it.

First, I do think they are probably scrambling on the narrators and if they knew who they would be they would have announced it. But I don’t think at all they are cancelling it. My immediate thought is that they are getting slammed with bad take after bad take (thanks Genie+) and that there’s likely going to be some negative press in the next few weeks so they will gladly roll out John Stamos and Neil Patrick Harris on October 20th to take the heat off a little.

I’m going to say the pandemic is mucking things up again… that’s all. It’s not sorted out yet.

Agreed.

I noticed that too, but the complete garbage availability for dining in Epcot makes me encouraged it’s being held for CP dining packages.

Well, Disney apparently read my post. Good.

Woohoo! Thanks for the details! I guess it will still be a happy surprise who we get for narrators! Jodi Benson, Jodi Benson, Jodi Benson!

Also, WHY oh WHY are they opening the packages on a Tuesday??

Only 4 restaurants. That doesn’t really explain too much to me regarding Epcot’s availability.

Oooooh this has the actual narrator dates. Thank you! (No Jodi for me…)

I’m not going for the packages, as I’m not interested in the speakers. Jodi is on some of my dates.

No Ale & Compass :sob: My dates are not listed yet so I will have to keep “checking every day”! I could be convinced to do Biergarten (my husband loves it and I would be interested in the Christmas decorations!) but only if it’s a high profile narrator.

That really sucks. Rose and Crown is such a bad pick too because they already have the fireworks package too. I’m very disappointed.

I actually on like one Restaurant on that list, Garden Grill. I don’t like the menu at Biergarten, I did not at all like R&C last trip, and we were meh with Coral Reef when we went, I prefer the breakfast at GG, which I’m very disappointed has not been brought back.

Yeah I would really only do it if GG breakfast was available. I don’t like any of them enough (restaurants or narrators) to rush out and book one. Good for my bank account though!

Now the cynic in me is asking what kind of crummy news will they be dropping at 4pm after doing all the fun stuff this morning?? $5 per person for parking trams?
