Ok, I’m a little confused with Disneyland’s version of MDE, and trying to add my family to it. I see how it’s done in the WDW version, but the options aren’t there on the DL version. Is there something I’m missing?
You don’t really add family to DL’s app. You can however scan their tickets in so you can manage all the Lightening Lanes for everyone.
Dah? That’s confusing. Ok. So I can add their tickets, but not them. We do have a couple of MB+ from WDW that I was going to try to add to the DL side, but now I’m stumped.
I have a MB+ that is linked to both coasts. You just scan it into the DL app under the magic band section. Hit the plus button on the top right of the magicband plus tab.
Ok, cool. That seems easy enough. I might try that tomorrow.
I got the tickets linked. Does DL-MDE know that one of the tickets is actually mine? Like can I use a MB+ to get into the parks? Or do I still need to show the ticket in MDE? to enter the park?
When are you going to be in DL? Soon?
Nope, not until January. I just bought my tickets yesterday. And the changes between the WDW and DL MDE apps is driving me bonkers.
To use the MagicBand you just have to add it to the DL app like @Wahoohokie described above. That’s what actually links the band to “you” (your ticket) in the app.
I have MK rather than a ticket. Once I got the MB+ I linked it to my MK in the app and it did work to get in through the gate.
This could be semester-long class with plenty discussion, several 2 pages papers and a final exam. Especially if you consider the G+ differences as part of that. Drives me crazy too. I never what I’m doing on the Beast Coast!!
Ok. I tried to link via the numbers in the back of the MB (I’m right now at work and the MB+ is at home), and that didn’t work. I’m going to look for the MB+ tonight, and try linking it directly.
But will it know like the ticket belonging to “Felis Lachesis” is actually mine, and not possibly someone else with the same name?
When you fully link the band in the DL app it will have you pick a ticket to assign it to & that’s how you will tell it Felis Lachesis’s MagicBand goes to Felis Lachesis’s ticket.
ETA: All the tickets you linked will show as choices & will have the same names you assigned to each one.
AHA! Ok! The WDW assigns it to a profile. The DL one doesn’t. Oh this is so so confusing. Why can’t Disney IT keep everything consistent?
IKR!!!?!!?!?!
DL’s setup is much less cohesive and your “profile” more like a stitched together coagulation of components of your park experience. MDE in WDW does a much better job of knowing “This profile is a person that would have a MB, ticket media, etc, etc.” DL’s is like, oh you wanna know what ADR’s you made under your Disney account? Gimme the reservation number and I’ll show you!"
That is the same with tickets! Like I have them all in the right names, but DL-MDE is like “these are just 3 random tickets”
Yup, exactly. Now you’re getting it!
WDW-MDE seems to centralize the data under the MDE account. This MB is on Felis’ MDE account, this ADR is on Felis’ MDE account. This ticket, etc.
What’s the central locator for DL-MDE, or it is just a bunch of separate items that we have to pull together on our own?
I think most of the time ADR’s that I make in my name will show up in my app without linking but DH can’t see them unless he logs into my profile/account. And park reservations for everyone linked in my DL app will show up but after that if it’s not manually linked, it’s not in there.
Oye. What a mess! I added the tickets manually, and the Park Pass Reservations showed up with them, but I made the PPRs when I bought the tickets. So I see how they are linked.
It’s like Disney IT only made DL-MDE after the success of the WDW version, but this is very patched together. Not like WDW’s systems aren’t patched together, also.
Like why, before the pandemic, was ADRs 180+10, but FP+ was 60+14?
