over a $100 increase for Enchant key (hell a $100 or more for all)? Ow.
Couple of tidbits I grabbed from the article, in case anyone wants to get the overview without the click.
(Parking and park-hopper prices did NOT increase).
One-day, one-park tickets used to top out at $194 for guests over age 9. They now go up to $206, which is a 6.2% increase. Two, three, four and five-day tickets saw about a 6.5% increase.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass previously cost $30 when purchased prior to a park visit.
That pre-arrival price has now jumped to $32, which is the same as the starting price for same-day Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchases.Inspire Key – Previously $1649. Now $1749. That’s a 6.1% increase
Believe Key – Previously $1249. Now $1374. That’s a 10% increase
Enchant Key – Previously $849. Now $974. That’s a 14.7% increase
I’m not sure the whole story for other passes, but the Believe Key has already seen SIGNIFICANT price increases this year.
When we last renewed (September 2023), Believe was $1099 and compared to 2022’s renewal had increased blockouts to extend to almost all Saturdays/Sundays from Oct-early Jan and added more Saturdays in the summer. Which we grumbled about but still paid to be able to go on our frequent trips.
AND then (at some point within the year) they raised the price from $1099 > $1249 and the blockouts were still the same. Which caused us to nope out this year on our renewal date.
And now they want someone to pay $1374 for that? Yea, I don’t know if we’ll ever be Magic Keys again. Not unless I get some other source of income or the kids start paying for their own.
Remember when APs were $99? included parking? Photopass? Included Friday’s and some Saturdays? Some days in December too!! Jessica and I were just talking about all these things.Thankfully she has been paying for her own pass the last couple of years! Being so close to the park I can’t imagine not having the cheapest pass. We get alot of days in, just not in summer and now not in December . (We’ll be buying a one day one park ticket for Nay’s celebration of life day on December ) I need to do some math and see if it will be best to just move up to the next pass. Of course we renew in December
I think for locals who can get there in a couple of hours it still totally makes sense. I guess my new goal is to one day be close enough to be able to get a pass and just go as many ever-loving days as I can!!!
That is a great reason to get a ticket. I was looking at some old photos of my kids in DL and she was in a couple of them. Some good memories that they (more me) have of seeing her in the parks.
Oh man!! We definitely didn’t ever have a $99 pass, but I do remember our very first price increase after we had bought them in 2014. We bought in July and it went from $670 to $700 in October a few months later and we were like, why do they have to the raise the price??? We didn’t know how lucky we were then! And with no blockouts, and parking included and yes PhotoPass!!!
I was just pricing a 3-day PH & the PH adds $90 to a 3-day ticket. PH for 2-day is $85, for 4-day it’s $95, and for 5-day it’s $105! It appears it’s no longer a flat fee for PH and depends on length of ticket. 1-day is $65-$75
Wow. The article said they wouldn’t be doing that, but that’s pretty shoddy if they did now change it. And the bottom of the floor pricing is $65.
