Disney discounts - will UOR follow?

Just booked a 6-night trip to WDW for June with the new room discounts. Staying at Boardwalk with DS13 with park hoppers and the total was about $4500. I tried comparing to UOR staying at Royal Pacific for 6 nights (not that we would stay that long if only going to UOR), but for just the hotel was about $5300. I’m assuming adding tickets (and Express Pass for Epic) would add at least another $1k. The room was about $750 per night, I think, and it was the cheapest of the deluxes. The question is whether or not UOR will follow with discounts to combat Disney. I haven’t been to UOR since 2022 and obviously haven’t been to Epic, so could easily be swayed to change or add UOR dates, but those rates are CRAZY.

I think it will depend on the economy and how Epic affects demand, etc. Those are very steep prices! It’s actually quite a bit more than the room I was looking at for late May (week of Memorial Day). I wonder if prices have gone up since I was looking, or if your parameters are more expensive for some reason (maybe only suites are available or something?)

The forum won’t let me quote your post @clonghurst but Inwas looking at AP rates today. I have a 2 park power pass. RPR and Portofino were both in the 500s for the 2026 dates I was looking at. Would one seasonal pass work for your dates? I think you can check those rates without the pass . Also, if you buy the tickets separately it should not increase the ticket cost. Did you try that?

I didn’t try that. Even at $500 per night plus tickets, that seems a little steep, as I’ve always thought of UOR as a tad cheaper than WDW. The big deal would be to go to Epic, but just don’t think it’s worth it yet with all the ride downtime. Plus, we got spoiled staying deluxe and getting free EP at IOA and the other park, but the fact that Epic doesn’t get it loses a little value now.

This is generally no longer true. It depends a bit, but it can be more expensive to do UOR than WDW now.

It is much cheaper if you can stay at the non express pass resorts. Sapphire Falls has been well under $300 a night.
