The runDisney expo is in the exhibit hall, so that’s why I’m trying to go to Trader Sam’s that evening. I wouldn’t mind Tangaora Terrace, either. Though Goofy’s Kitchen would be the backup, and we wouldn’t have to walk outside once we’re in the expo ![]()
I wouldn’t worry about that, everything is so close together at DLH.
Also, I think Trader Sam’s also takes walk-ups, if you don’t mind waiting a bit. I will try to post photos of the menu from TS and foods we had at the two places, if that’s of interest.
Oh please! I’d love that! Thank you ![]()
At Tangaroa Terrace, I had the Chopped Island Salad with Pan-Seared Salmon.
DH had the Poke Bowl with Ahi Tuna.

At Trader Sam’s, I had the Piranha Pool drink (no fancy mug), and the Hawaiian Platter. I think those in the background are the Tempura-Battered Green Beans and the Chicken Tenders that @ParkRanger and @LTinNC82 had.
DH had the Pu Pu Platter and the Hala Kahiki drink (not shown). The foods behind that were things the others had ordered, but I’m not sure what these are.
That is some of the oddest looking shrimp tempura I’ve ever seen. Though I think most of them come to restaurants par-deep-fried and frozen. The tempura vegetables look good!
Those green beans are amazing!! Make sure you get them.
Yum! That night was fun, although I wish we’d had more of an experience.
Yeah, it was really busy (and loud) but then it thinned out. That made it better for trying to hear each other while dining, but…
I like the Tiki Birds storm better.
The cold AC temp didn’t help. Maybe a few more drinks would have have helped us out! ![]()
The reservations for Goofy’s Kitchen got loaded today, so I got that booked. Storyteller’s is still in the Oogie Boogie noogie and nothing after Aug 22
Trader Sam’s? No idea.
New question for my late January trip.
Why are there no ADRs available for Magic Key Terrace after Jan 7? It’s like it’s fine, it’s fine… There’s nothing. And I don’t remember this being a crazy-hot ticket, unlike Trader Sams.
Jan 7 is right after the Christmas season ends and I don’t know why it’s so but anytime there’s changeover between seasonal events, there’s at least one restaurant that is slow to load their calendar so that reservations can even open. And from what I learned once upon a time when they had a dining number to call, if a restaurant never showed availability at 60 days in advance, and still doesn’t have it, it’s that the manager hasn’t loaded the staffing schedule into the system. So hopefully the manager gets their staff’s schedule figured out soon and gets those loaded. I’m also positive that for the Magic Key Terrace around January, if you go early in the day, you should be able to walk-up and get in just fine.
Ok. That makes sense. I know MKT isn’t the most hard to get ADR, I just don’t like leaving things to chance when I don’t have to
I get it! I’d rather get the plan I want secured too if it can be. Here’s to hoping they get their schedule up so you can!
