I’m used to planning for Disney, so I don’t know what to do with myself with no reservations to make for universal. What are the waits like if we’re planning to eat at an off time (2pm)? We’ll probably skip the Harry Potter restaurants, possibly going out to city walk to eat. Any suggestions?
I’m planning the same sort of thing for our first trip this coming weekend. I have a reservation for Tchoup Chop, but plan to go to City Walk for most of our other sit down meals. I’ll try to remember to tell you how it goes when we return.
Hubby and I went to Citiwalk in November after arriving in Orlando and checking into an offsite hotel. We got there around 8 pm. We ate at Margaritaville. We didn’t have reservations and didn’t have a long wait.
The longest wait we had at any Universal or CityWalk restaurant during our last trip was at Vivo (Italian place) right after the park closed. It was only 20 minutes and the food was worth the wait. We ate around peak time at The Leaky Cauldron. It took us around 10 minutes to get to order and then 10 minutes until we got our food. Universal is far less of a dining destination, especially inside the parks, so I wouldn’t worry about in-depth planning for meals. As a caveat, we went in late August last year, so both WDW and Universal were around a CL5.
Thanks all! This makes me feel better about having nothing planned!
