Dining Plan Question! Which menu for DS10

My son is 10, and I just saw that the kids menu is for kids 9 and younger. We have the Dining Plan, so will he be able to order off of the adult menu? Or will he have the option of the kids menu?

For QS meals you can order off either. For TS you can order off kid’s menu. But definitely not good value. We pay OOP for those saving adult credit for later. For buffets, shows, family style etc you are an adult and an adult credit must be used.
In conclusion yes, usually but it is complicated.

Since your son is 10 he is a “Disney adult”, that means his dining plan is costing over $60 dollars a day. At any buffets he will be charged an adult credit. For table service meals you may want to review the menus and get an idea if what he will want. You can pay out of pocket for him if he wants a kids meal, and save his credits to add another table service.

This is exactly what we did with our 10-yar-old in November. He eats light and prefers the kids’ menus, so we paid OOP for him and saved enough credits to get an extra character meal added at the end of the trip.
